Citrus and dank on the nose slightly sweet sugar makes for an almost candied aspect. Light pale malt a hint of caramel. Poura golden great white head w a little oil noticeable. Moderate citrus and leafy floral hops up front. Light dough and caramel a hint of toast. Lingering leafy citrus. Well balanced. A little soapy perfuney finish.

Pours a transparent orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma is super hoppy, with prominent notes of orange and citrus. Flavor is full of citrus fruits and bitterness. There is a slightly odd malt flavor buried in the hop-dominated mix. Bitter finish. I pretty much cannot imagine a DIPA from Firestone Walker being anything less than excellent. This is pretty excellent, but not a revelation.

Phone rate, tap at Hamilton’s. 3/4 Double Jack and 1/4 Union Jack, apparently. Slightly hazed orange amber with a small light beige head, down to bathing ring and island after a couple minutes. Aroma of danky hops and moderate dry hopping, citrus rinds (not bitter) and some pine notes. Solid crystal malt backbone--perhaps just a touch sweeter than I like. Flavor has some moderate sweet crystal malt notes go forth into some bright citrus and pine, nice and danky midway through to the finish. Bitterness peaked at a 6, light alcohol noted in the semi-dry danky finish. Low carbonation with a medium full body. Very tasty.

On tap at Brouwer’s for Hopfest, pours cloudy orange with fine white lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus hops, caramel malts. Flavour is very fruity with citrus hops. Beautiful.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe for Hopfest, pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrusy hops and caramel. Flavour is much the same, with lots of fruity and citrusy hops. Delicious.

On tap at Brouwer’s Hopfest 2011. Pours a cloudy orange amber, with a tiny, soapy head. Citrus and tropical fruit on the nose -- mandarin and guava dominate. Flavor is right there, like wrapping a whole hop cone in a juicy guava slice. It’s got a really wonderful balance -- super hop-heavy, but it’s anything but one-dimensional. Not at all dry, but it’s almost chewy. Nice.
