COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of the rustic Wallonian Saison style is a harmonious blend of rustic grains, spicy yeast and unique sauvignon blanc tones. Inviting lemon grass and gooseberry meet peppery spice and fresh grain aromas. Spicy Belgian yeast create a complex yet dry and refreshing canvas with splashes of citrus and stone fruit with a bright tropical white wine finish. Hop bitterness is assertive yet harmonious rounding out slightly tart and refreshing.

Hazy yellow color on the pour. White head that dissipated very quickly. Aroma isnít the best; banana, touch of clove, and unfortunately, some kind of medicinal, almost vegetable smell. Taste is much better. No veggies, but a light pepper flavor, some citrus, clove. Average body that doesnít really pop. Overall Iím a little let down by this beer, but itís not too bad. Would probably pass on purchasing again, even at the $6.19 price I got the bomber for.

[6819-20140926] 650mL bottle. Fruity plastic and yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, pale yellow body with a medium-lasting white head. Sweet fruit and bitter green leafy flavour. Medium body. Average. (6/3/7/3/14) 3.3+

22oz bottle fromBinnys (Naperville, IL). Drank right before the Lil Opal Barrelworks version. Pours a hazy golden lemon hue, a toucch dulled in the middle, lively cascading bubbly body with larger big bubbly head atop stays as a firm cakey crown, good retention and ok lacing overall. Aromas show bright lemon and citrus, floral hops, bready malts and a touch of dough, straw, cereal elements. Firmer hopping with gentle estery fruit beneath, faint banana and apple meet gentle yeasty spice. Some more bright lemony citrus, earth and gentle fruity sweetness beneath. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some bolder fruit jabs up front show a bit of estery life, banana and faint bubblegum quickly lead into big citrusy hops, firm bitterness meets bready malts, touches of straw, gentle spiciness. Firm hopping sustains with some citric bites, florals and smoothed, creamy jabs of fruity ester. Dry, spicy backend with some good hoppiness, faint medicinal jjab at times is a bit off. Finish is a bit crisp and dry, decent herbal and floral bitter hopping as we finish up, dry, a bit spritzy and earthy bitterness. A bit of banana, bubblegum but overall itís light enough to let the hops and dryness, gentle yeasty play grow on me. Solid one.

Bottle. Pure, clear gold with a huge, frothy white head with excellent staying power. The standard saison yeast characteristics of pear and sharp white pepper in the nose, but paired with lemon-lime hops. Solid. Flavor showcases more hop character in the front -- orange peel and dried lemon potpourri, then dried flowers and peppercorns. Leans just a tad toward the sweet side with pear and green apple before a dry, crisp finish.

Better than boulevards saisons! Sweet very smooth and some fruit. Light and not hoppy or bitter. Easy to drink and impressive.

The beer pours a reddish copper color with a medium head. Aroma has some candied sugar with some mild citrus. Taste is very close to the aroma with sweet coconut, butterscotch and a quick blast of citrus. Nice finish.

Draft at Firestone taproom with Linh. Pours a light golden body with thick white lacing. Aroma is bright fruity yeast, citrus, lemon and grass. Mouthfeel is active carbonation, medium to light-bodied with notes of lemon, grass, yeast, light spice and some fruit. Nice saison, and particularly fresh on draft at the source.

Bomber. Yeast and some strange rubbing alcohol fumes ("retro-nasal burn," said one person at the table), and some fruity hopping. Light lemon yellow color. Mlld sweet and sour fruity initial, gentle citrus, thin hopping, and a touch of funk. Thin-medium body. Nice enough -- but not as much as Iíd expected. The dry hopping is pleasant. Fruit flavors are light all through the palate.
