COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of the rustic Wallonian Saison style is a harmonious blend of rustic grains, spicy yeast and unique sauvignon blanc tones. Inviting lemon grass and gooseberry meet peppery spice and fresh grain aromas. Spicy Belgian yeast create a complex yet dry and refreshing canvas with splashes of citrus and stone fruit with a bright tropical white wine finish. Hop bitterness is assertive yet harmonious rounding out slightly tart and refreshing.

Poured from 12 oz bottle, courtesy of SamGamgee. Light golden - yellow with a nice sized white head. Nose is somewhat complex; lots of stuff going on there, lemon, white wine, pepper, mixed in with that Belgian earthiness. Taste is spicy and bitter, a nice blend with a kind of abrupt finish. Overall a great interpretation of this style.

The carbonation is a bit too much. Other than that, typical saison that just isn’t as good as any of their Belgian counterparts.

Straw pale pour, small head. Aroma of lemon curd and cut grass baked by the sun, super summery. High carbonation. Flavour is sweet and lemony, malt back by a rind-y character from the yeasty, quite full in the mouth for the style. The finishes dries out to keep it all drinkable. A touch too lumbering and sweet for the style, but quite nice all the same.

>> Opal. Crystal clear straw pour with excellent white foam. Great lacing. Crazy fresh dry hopped nose with spicy Belgian IPA like white peppery, fresh pomelo, candied lemon. Taste is quite dry, low sugar, no alcohol presence...more candied lemon, spicy hops, perfume. It’s still not exactly what I’d call saison, but I really like the way this one comes together and the dry hop character is outstanding. Just a tad too papery/perfumey for me more along the lines of Belgian IPA.

2015 bottle. Clear, effervescent light golden straw with a big fluffy white head. Aroma is big barnyard funk with straw, lemon and a peppery spice. Taste follows nose with the pepper being more pronounced and the lemon having just a smidge of sweetness, like a lemon drop. Slight cheesiness at the end. Dry, astringent mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not bad. The alcohol is masked very well for such a light beer. Pale pour. Crisp aroma and mouthfeel. A little spice, smooth finish.

Fluffy white head, 2 fingers in depth. Slightly hazy straw colored body. Aroma is floral with belgian yeast/farmhouse funk, lemon and peppery notes. The taste follows the aroma with an additional honey sweetness. Very pleasant overall.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro! pours hazy very pale yellow with a small reviving white cap showing good retention and lacing. crisp pils, custardy lemons, juicy pears, chewy white grapes and light tropical fruits; very fruity, spicy and floral yeast, dupont-like, with its beautiful esters, sulfur and chalk traces. lively carbonation, light body - oily; lightly tart, astringent and balanced spicy-herbal finish. very solid and genuine saison. much enjoyed!

Bottle 660ml. Pours clear yellow with low white head. Aroma is of grain, white wine, pepper. Taste is of grain, sugar, some bitterness, very slight acidity. Palate: Light-medium body. Soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Very nice. Excellent belgian yeast action. Fantastic pepper features. Clean.

750ml. 210 days old (Bottled on 6/6/14). Appearance: crystal clear pale yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Looks like a glass of champagne. Aroma: Peppery Belgian saison yeast dominates. A hint of herbal/ earthy hop notes, that are very faint given the age of this beer. Also a bit of lemongrass apparent. Taste: Light malt sweetness giving way to flavors of lemon, pepper, and tart orange peel, with a sharp bitterness that has some herbal tones. Mouthfeel: Very light and dry on the palate, with high carbonation. Finish: Dry with a bit of lemony citrus and lingering bitterness. Overall: Good but not great saison, but that is likely due to this beer being well past it’s optimal condition. I picks up none of the dry hop characteristics I’d expect from the description, and some of the typical saison characteristics such as pepper were fairly restrained. I’ll try to pick up a fresher version next time for comparison.
