Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Nose brings out pleasant floral hops, some tropical fruits, and some earthy herbal notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with crisp crackery malt, floral hops, a light tropical fruitiness and some herbal notes. Very fresh and crisp body. A pleasant pale ale that is quite drinkable.

I poured this ale into my trusty Samuel Adams glass. The pour produced a hazy, pale yellow body topped by a big, fluffy head of white foam, which lingered for quite a while. The aroma was floral, with some generous hopping (or at least I could assume so, since this is what I smelled through my cold.) Some slight sweetness, balanced by the bitterness of the hops, which quickly faded to a minimal aftertaste. This ale is medium bodied and had a smooth texture, making it quite drinkable.

Such a good pale. Not over top pale like some guys making IPA and calling it a pale. Nice pine and mango nose. Earth bitterness like a good ESB. Great pale!

Straw golden beer on tap at some Mexican restaurant served in a frozen bacardi mug... Well it earned eventually and revealed a nice hoppy pale. Floral and slightly citrusy, clean and refreshing.
