Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Golden color with some foam. The smell is crisp fresh and has a lot of citrus. The taste is calm, yet very bitter and tart with a pine forest hop part. The aftertaste is dry, bitter and tart.

Clear nice golden color with a fine frothy white head. Nice lacing! Citric, pine and mild tropical aroma. Medium body and a soft to average carbonation. Ok and fresh balance between sweetness and bitterness. Citric, pine, mild fruity and a fine malty back in the flavor. Nice and tasty session able ale.

Pour is a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is a nice subtle dank hop. Flavor is more of a clean fresh albeit minor hops. Malt is barley noticeable this is a pure hop forward pale ale. Good but a bit thin and something you could saddle in with and drink a bunch of.

355ml bottle at home from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£3.00):
One that definitely grew on me as I worked my way down the glass. I initially wasn’t overly impressed with what I felt to be a weak nose & a lack of in your face hops with the taste but given time to open up the bitterness is there & the beer starts to work its magic. It’s definitely not up there with their Union Jack IPA but it’s not a bad effort from Firestone Walker again.

Pours a medium golden color with good clarity and a finger plus of tight white foam. Nose is bready with some floral grass and nuances of spicy citrus. Palate follows, bright clean well balanced bitterness. Soft toasted grain, citrus peel, pine.

Hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Very hoppy aroma with fruits, some spice and caramel malt. Flavour also dominated by hoppy bitterness and complimented by the fruity hops and the slight malt sweetness. Slightly thin but quite nice.
