Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Bottle at Third Base Round Rock. Clear pale amber and a small white head that leaves good lace. Light nose with subdued grass and citrus. Low sweet malt start followed by a medium bitterness. Medium mouth with slightly soft carbonation and a short dry finish. Inoffensive and easy to drink but nothing outstanding.

12 oz. bottle. Bottled 10/24/13 at 11.51. Pours a medium, off white, well retained, head, with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is Pils malts, with light cereal, slight floral honey tones, herbal hops, minimal esters....taste is cereal, light floral note, dry, light hop bitterness, no esters, balance to the hops.....mouth feel, medium body, light carbonation with minimal creamy notes, light acid. This is a light Pale Ale. It is quite under hopped for an APA and is wandering in the direction of a Pilsner. BJCP 6/3/13/4/6

Bottle - light yellow pour with a medium head. Grassy aroma with a lemony grassy taste. Somewhat dry on the finish. Better than the beer that Firestone is calling their session beer (FW Easy Jack).

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 03/04/14-22:38. Medium amber pour that erupts into a modest short-lived white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts mainly with some earthbound hops in the background. Medium, smooth body. The caramel malts come on strong in the taste and there is a pleasant and not overpowering bitterness on the backside. Kind of a pepper sensation too but not a spicy one.

Bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours crystal clear golden color with tiny bubbles. White head dissipates quickly. Nose and flavor are pine and a little citrus. The hops are quite muted. Finishes dry with a bitter aftertaste.

Mild hop aromas with some hints of citrus. Pale yellow in color, minimal head. Nice initial sweet flavor of malt with citrusy hop overtones. Mild bitterness from hops. Finish is quick and bitter. A bit watery but not bad.

Clean pale, light amber, body with almost no head. Aroma has high honey on the nose, little bit woody, herbs, some citrus character in the background too. Taste is light caramel sweet with higher earthy bitterness, mostly balanced to the bitter side, with short lasting after taste. Body is full, medium carbonation, oily on the tongue.

Bottled. Pours golden in color with a whitish head. Citrus tea with a load of malty and biscuity notes in aroma. Fruity sweetness with notes of honey, some nuttyness and hints of piney bitterness in taste. Feels very well balanced and isn’t overly hopped or bitter in anyway. Overall a nice brew with a good malty backbone that is present in the aftertaste.
