Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

A: Light golden-copper with a moderate off-white head. Quickly recedes but leaves behind some lacing. S: Citric hops dominate the aroma profile. Pleasant and subdued. T: More of the same... but amped up... Very nice, slightly bitter APA... good malt base adding some caramel and bread complexity. M: Light-medium body. Resinous. Good carbonation. O: Greatly enjoyed this brew... not quite like the Pale Ale’s out here on the east coast. Refreshing and enjoyable.

The nose is floral/citrus hops. Color is golden/semi-transparent. Pale 31 is mildly/medium sweet which I personally prefer. The hops provide just the right amount of bitter to make this beer well balanced. Not a ton of carbonation or bitterness therefore smooth easy drinking. Overall a well built pale ale

Hands down my favorite pale ale. The Aroma is awesomely floral with pine and citrus. Appearance is nice and golden with slight white head retention and moderate lacing. The taste is sweet malt at first then transitions to a nice, bitter, piney hop. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall this is a fantastic pale ale, nice flora hop aroma, with IPA like hop taste, but with only 4.8% abv. Very sessionable!

bottle beer that I put in a tulip glass. Dark straw in color with a fluffy white head that shrunk slowly. BIG grapefruit and orange nose accompanied by piney hop aromas. pleasing cracker and bread flavors from the malt are reminiscent of a pilsner. Medium body and carbonation. Bold flavors for what I consider a very easy drinking beer. I want to try using this in a beer mimosa sometime soon...

Firestone Walker Pale 31 sets the standard for American pale ales. The aroma has a sweet floral start and ends with grassy almost piney. The appearance is intense orange with hints of amber towards the rim of the glass. The taste starts with a sweet malt and finishes with a light bitter. This ale walks the line between an ipa and pale, it has the hop finish of an ipa but the subtle malt balance of a pale ale!

12 oz bottle in a 6 oz tasting glass. White head quickly disappears. Easy drinking with a light, crisp flavor. Noticeable hops but not overly bitter. Enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle pour into a DFH glass- Very strong floral and citrus aroma. Clear golden amber color. Initial frothy bone white head dissipates quickly. Taste of sweet citrus and piney hops. Lively carbonation, long and flavorful finish. Overall, easy to see why this is a 2011 GABF gold medal winner

Pours clear gold with a medium white head...nice lacing. Aroma has light citrus, hints of grass, and some earthy malt notes. Flavor has mild caramel and earthy malts with mild citrus and spicy hops...very subdued. Mouthfeel is light...almost watery and the finish is earth with tea notes.
