COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Pours a nice golden amber with a medium creamy off white head that laced. Aroma was very floral, citrus, nice caramel malt touch. Flavor was floral and citrus, bready malt with a nice caramel balance. Moderate hop bitterness.

12 oz. bottle of Pale 31. Gold color with thin head. Nose and taste is floral with honey. A subtle hop bitterness lingers on the palate. The floral hops were great and could be more prominent. Would have also liked a little more malt backbone.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2010 Pours gold, with a beautiful hop aroma. Easily drinkable beer, but with a nice rounded malt sweetness. Nice combination of malt flavor and hop aroma.

Pours gold, with a light citrus aroma that features lemon, orange, and grapefruit. Flavor is primarily citrus with a light, rounded body. What impresses me about this brew is its drinkability, which is superbly high. I couldn’t believe how much aroma and flavor was packed into such a light body. Great brew.

12oz. bottle, with thanks to EinWeizenbitte from over on BA for the bonus. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a choppy one finger white head that drifts to a whisp and a few large bubbles, moderate retention and lacing. Aroma is citrus and light caramel and floral. Flavor is more citrus, with a caramel malt backbone. An enjoyable APA, and continuing to enjoy Firestone as a brewer, thanks again Todd!

Pours a nice light copper-gold color nice white head. smells of cascade thin crisp flavor slight hop bitterness similar to Mirror Pond. This is a good beer a basic California Pale Ale smooth well balanced. A good representation of the style a little light on flavor for me but a good beer for sessioning.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2009 12 oz. bottle. I may have rated this beer a bit high. This is my "go-to" beer, or session beer, so I may be biased. Golden color with thin white head. Aroma is mostly Cascade hops - that familiar mild and citrusy scent thats like an old friend. Flavor is mostly the hops, but amazingly very little bitterness. Some honey and fruity sweetness balance it out. Crisp, crisp, crisp! Medium light body with average carbonation. The moderate ABV and the fact that its crisp and refreshing without compromising any flavor or aroma makes for what is probably the most drinkable beer Ive ever had.

12 oz bottles: Peachy color, maybe 12 SRM, bubbly without lasting head. Aroma is honey-sweet and gushing with Cascade dry-hopped goodness. Flavor leads with honey, toffee and berry jam, balanced with crisp hop bitterness spot-on for style. Medium light body with sustained finish that confirms this pale best of style. (Flavors muddle a bit as beer warms past cellar temps).

Bomber. Pours a honey pale body with a white lacing. Big citrus nose and light floral hoppiness. A light malty caramel backbone with no etoh. Good.
