Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Bottle. Clear, beautiful golden colour with a soapy white head. Fresh aroma of raisins, grapes citrus and coriander. Flavour is fresh bitter, decent amount of hop character and very easy drinkable. Medium body and carbo but really refreshing and thirst quenching. If I had better access to this, I would defintely stock my fridge with it. Very nice APA.

This pours a beautiful gold with a hazy head. The aroma is bright and citrusy with a faint smell of crusty bread... think San Francisco sourdough. The flavor is spot on for a California pale: bold hops with their piney bitterness, but nothing big or overbearing. It's a crisp, balance and refreshing beer.

Strong hops on the nose with some crisp bread-like malts behind it. Light gold in color with a fast dissipating foam. Assertive hops greet the palate followed by a steady caramel and biscuit malt flavor. Overall, this is a well done pale ale. Simple yet, assertive and balanced. I’d give this a B rating.

Pale gold with good, foamy, white head / Bright nose of soap, citrus, and pine / Light to medium body, a tad thin, some resin, good balance and bitter finish / Weak but fine flavors of soap, grapefruit, honey, and orange peel / Just a little too light, but wouldn’t turn one down.

Small bottle kindly shared by Valeria at Galeria Kaufhof Berlin Alexanderplatz. Clear golden with a white film. Heavy dry hopped nose where the cascade seems to dominate. Medium bodied hoppy juice.

Pours a clear, pale copper, small white, fizzy head that doesnt stick around. Small bubbles pepper the body. Aroma is fruit, malt, caramel, honey and a nuance of sour yeast - husky sweetness cut with the hops. Quite clean and crisp and a little dry in the mouth. A bready, malt sweetness offset by the bitterness of hops that are big in the middle and finish, but never overdone. More bready malt in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied and quite lively carbonation. Another nicely balanced, quite sessionable APA.

Pours a golden colour with a foamy white head. Aroma of really strong and fresh hops and grass. Flavour of strong bitterness, citrus, grass, floral notes and caramel. Medium bodied, high carbonation and a grassy bitter finish. Summery and refreshing.

12oz bottle poured clear golden hue w/ a med-large frothy white head and excellent lacing. Big aromas of floral hops, pine, citrus and a biscuity malt. Taste is a crisp light sweetness initially with a dry hop bitterness of short duration on the finish. Flavors of grain, biscuit, pine, and lime. Body is medium, a slightly dry texture, lively carbonation. A lovely beer.
