3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at Deconstructed event during LA Beer Week, a pre-dinner beer. Nice and light. But with a certain English heaviness to it as well. Before I knew it, I had drained the glass.

Bottle @ home. Completely transparent, golden orange appearance with an off white head. Strong piney, grapefruit citrusy, bitter, resin hoppy aroma. Crisp, pale malty, grapefruit, piney hoppy, a bit sticky flavor. Slightly sticky, grapefruity aftertaste. Solid beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355mL bottle poured a golden color with loads of white head and some good retention leaving some nice lacing behind. Aroma of grain and hops. Taste is lightly sweet maltiness and some citrus and pine hop bitterness in the finish. This is one of the finest pale ales I have tried.

GABF 2011. Clear light gold with a big rocky white head. Hoppy lemon aroma with pale cereal grain tones. Flavor is light but hoppy-lots of lemon citrus, nice pale maltiness. Lean and refreshing yet full bodied.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2011 Not too bad at all, but I was a little let down by this one. This is definitely on the lighter side of the pale ale category. Almost looks like a pilsner. Nice floral aromas on the nose, not much malt presence. A little bit of malt greets you up front with a very pronounced floral hop finish. Guess I just like my pale ales to have a little more oomph. Was something missing in the flavor for me on this one. A decent session beer.

Crushed with TheRon. Golden pour with a thin, sticky head. Nice floral, hoppy aroma. Very hoppy flavor, but balanced as hell, with biscuity malt in the finish. A fantastic pale ale.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: The pour is a hazed golden orange color with a sticky white head and nice lacing.
S: Smells a bit sweet, but there’s plenty of citrus and even a few tropical fruit notes. Mild grass with a nice pine note to it as well as a light floral scent. Some bready malt gives a little body.
T: Like the nose, it’s a bit sweet, but it works fine for a pale ale. Lots of citrus hops (especially orange and tangerine, a little less grapefruit). Some pine bitterness as well as a little bit of floral character.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: I really like this beer, a solid pale ale that I know will pretty much always be good.

Bottle. Poured golden with a sweet malty aroma. First taste noticed a light, yet crisp carbonation. Overall went down smooth and very refreshing. Sweet taste.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass. Had less than a ¼-inch of head. Color was a lighter orange/gold combination. Slight lacing left after pour. Very slight film throughout the glass.
Smelled plenty of strong flavors. First smell is citrus, mainly lemon and orange. Some pine in there, too. Smells crisp and fresh.
Tasted like a combination of citrus and pine needles. Followed with some grapefruit and orange peels. More hoppy than I thought it would be, but overall a pretty good balance.
Good mouthfeel. Refreshing throughout and never lost its taste. Crisp and refreshing. All the flavors work together well. Higher on the carbonation.
Have always loved this beer. Despite finally rating it, I hardly think it changed from my first sip a few years ago. Crisp, clean and refreshing.
