COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

bottle. Pours a clear gold with a tall, frothy white head. The aroma is assertive with pine, grapefruit, leaves, and a bouquet of citrus. The hops are tamer in the flavor than in the aroma, but still very present. This pale is nicely tart throughout with an appropriate level of sweetness. The finish is lemony with suggestions of dough. I’d say this is quite similar to Sierra Nevada’s classic take on this style, but with its own subtle nuances.

On tap at Toronado. Disarmingly clear yellow-orange color, light citrus aroma with some skunk. Citrus taste, some metallic elements, caramel, bready. OK.

The Firestone Pale Ale has a very delinquent appearance. The smell has hints of beer and foam(head) to it. The taste was very delicate but intrusive at the same time, very confusing. Drinkability was top notch. i popped the top with almost no effort or resistance. Very good beer IMO.

Aroma= Medium hops supported by light malt Apperence = Bright yellow Flavor = Nice bitterness all the way through. Although not overly malty the beer is quite refreshing and for the most part in balance Palate = medium to med light, good carbination Over all = a very nice Pale in American style. If there is a flaw malt bill could be low but it is a really tasty beer and not hopped to IPA

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2009 This is my first ale from Firestone. The APA was very good. The head was small and no lacing. The straw color was pleasing . The aroma of grapefruit was muted by the vanilla nd toffee. the well balanced APA was well worth it. I would try from the tap. I will also look for more Firestone products. I purchased a 6-pack on father’s day 2009. It was great with steamed crabs.
