Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Firestone Walker Pale 31 sets the standard for American pale ales. The aroma has a sweet floral start and ends with grassy almost piney. The appearance is intense orange with hints of amber towards the rim of the glass. The taste starts with a sweet malt and finishes with a light bitter. This ale walks the line between an ipa and pale, it has the hop finish of an ipa but the subtle malt balance of a pale ale!

12 oz bottle in a 6 oz tasting glass. White head quickly disappears. Easy drinking with a light, crisp flavor. Noticeable hops but not overly bitter. Enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle pour into a DFH glass- Very strong floral and citrus aroma. Clear golden amber color. Initial frothy bone white head dissipates quickly. Taste of sweet citrus and piney hops. Lively carbonation, long and flavorful finish. Overall, easy to see why this is a 2011 GABF gold medal winner

Pours clear gold with a medium white head...nice lacing. Aroma has light citrus, hints of grass, and some earthy malt notes. Flavor has mild caramel and earthy malts with mild citrus and spicy hops...very subdued. Mouthfeel is light...almost watery and the finish is earth with tea notes.

A: Light golden-copper with a moderate off-white head. Quickly recedes but leaves behind some lacing. S: Citric hops dominate the aroma profile. Pleasant and subdued. T: More of the same... but amped up... Very nice, slightly bitter APA... good malt base adding some caramel and bread complexity. M: Light-medium body. Resinous. Good carbonation. O: Greatly enjoyed this brew... not quite like the Pale Ale’s out here on the east coast. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Pale 31 is very floral, with citrus notes. It is clear and golden in color. When I poured it, it had a minimal head, with white foam. Tastes great with a medium sweetness, and a thin, light body. Carbonation was lively, and finishes a little bitter, with a long finish. Definitely a nice, easy drinker.

Bomber. A good American Pale Ale. Sweet malty body with some bitterness for balance. Solid grapefruit. Crisp and zingy finish. Tasty

Pours a pale gold with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel malts and hops. Taste is initially sweet and malty quickly followed by a spicy hop bite. Northwest hops from the aroma and taste. The palate ends very crisp and clean which is one thing to note about this beer.
