Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

12oz bottle fridge temp, cloudy dark orange. Aroma is pretty pine forward, taste is stale, pine, caramel, some burnt malts, light blue cheese, straw and wheat taste.

Pours golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is orange, grapefruit, nice and fresh, maybe a bit of stone fruit, with some light malt. Taste is orange (almost Jell-O ish), some grapefruit, biscuit, and light bitterness. Pretty light body, nice carbonation. Not a lot of complexity here, but a straight forward, clean, citrusy APA. Could be a nice go-to.

On draft. Clear golden color with one finger white head. Floral aroma. Floral and a little citrus on the taste. Ends dry. A pretty good beer.

4 oz pour on draft at B Side. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of floral, citrus fruit and peel. Tastes of floral, citrus, light caramel, stone fruit. Medium body with a dry finish. Nicely balanced, could see myself throwing back a few of these.

Pale golden color out of the bottle with very little of a white head. Bright citrus hop nose. Very flavorful pale ale with a strong bready backbone and lots of grapefruit rind, stone fruit and some grassy bitterness. Nice PNW pale ale.

Bottle from supermarket in Germany. Golden colour, clear with moderate white dense head. Strong hop aroma mixes both herbal/spicy notes with fruit, particularly mangoes. Taste is dominated by hop crunchy hop bitterness, but there is still a perceivable bready maltiness. Dry and long finish with hop citrus flavours. Great beer, but a bit more malt balance would improve the drinkability for me.

Einfach lecker!
