Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Poured two fingers of head on a medium straw colored body. The aroma is a wonderful mix of pine, whole cone hops and honey. The taste starts with mild sweetness and then goes to pine bitterness. The transition is abrupt. The texture is soft with some fizz. An enjoyable and drinkable ale at a low ABV.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is clear golden with large foamy white head. Moderate lacing. Aroma has floral and citrus elements. The taste includes pine, citrus, and floral elements. Not too hoppy. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Pours light gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Sweet caramel, hay and biscuit aromas. Dry with bread and hay upfront turning to bitter earth in the lasting finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and some tropical fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal hops, pale malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and dry. Very good overall.

Clean floral hop aroma, pours a clear light amber with a full white head. Earthy hop notes pair up with bready malt flavors and a moderate body to produce a good starting flavor. There is then a slight sweetness and some tropical fruit notes that come through from the hops. A nice session pale, with a little less hop bitterness then I usually prefer.

Pours clear golden. Aroma is malty, hoppy. Nice balance. Taste is lighter than the aroma suggested. Nice balance, some hops and malts, a very nice pale ale.
