Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

I liked the beer a great deal. Even though I am a hop head through and through, the dry hopping shows through in particular with the aroma and front end of the taste. It is important to note this is billed as and should be tasted as a pale ale not a robust, 70+ ibu IPA. Something I forgot upon first taste. The alcohol content is perfect for an afternoon sipper while cooking on the grill.

Can. Pours a clear orange-gold, finger of bubbly white foam, lasts a little while, lots of carbonation. A sweet tangerine aroma, along with orange and bergamot, light pine. Flavour is more biscuity, honey sweetness mixed with the citrus. Nice full flavour, decent body with mild clean bitterness. Easy to down, really refreshing.

Pale amber with soda-like head taht dissipates very quickly. All tropical pine in aroma. Lightly sweet biscuit malts with smattering of citrus/pine and floral in taste. Clean and refreshing mouthfeel with small bitterness. Nice.

Good beer the aroma was sweet not very bitter. Appearance was golden and clear. I was not a fan of the after taste as it was a little more bitter than I expected. Overall good beer. Would recommend for others to drink.

Can from Deguchiya. Pours a clear gold with a half-finger of head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nice light tropical fruit nose with some citrus and floral notes. Biscuity malts and honey come out as it warms on the palate. The tropical notes linger. Well-balanced with a medium body and average carbonation. Slightly bitter finish, but easy drinking. Solid pale ale.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Bottle. Pale yellow with a white head. Citrus and tropical hops on top of a velvet-smooth honey backbone.

Another good session beer in the same vein as the Easy Jack. Crisp, slightly less citrus and more floral than its counterpart.

Firestone Walker Pale 31 4.9% Crystal clear gold with a lovely tropical fruit juicy hop bouquet. Medium bodied with some honeyed biscuit, light earthiness and good sweet fruit character. A solid California Pale Ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
