COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

A golden blonde ale with a thin white head. Pungeant floral c-hops, grapefruit, biscuitty. In mouth, a light pale ale with light resinous, rather weak in mouth. On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009.

Draft. Golden ale with an intense floral aroma, very resinous. Very hoppy in mouth, due to lower gravity and high hops (Brewer sitting next to me). Excellent balance. Im trying to imagine what the IPA is like.(June 2004).

Pours golden honey to light copper with a thin off-white head that clings to the glass edge leaving a fair film of lacing. Fragrant floral hop aroma with a crisp pine nose, hints of honey and citrus on the end. Floral hoppy flavor with a mildly tart beginning and a mild citrus end. Palate is extremely refreshing and mild-bodied and a little clean water feel.

courtesy of Jürg Kohler - light blond-orange beer with a poor foam left; pineapple and grapefruity hoppiness; medium-bodied, decently tasty and quite bitter; moderate carbonation; pretty dry and long fruity hoppy reminiscence of bitter oranges and grapefruit

660ml bottle (Birofilia2014, Zywiec)
Zesty lemon spice, lemongrass aroma. Thin palate, perfumed soap and floor cleaner lemon and sweetness. Works in the aroma, but is boring after that.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2007 Bottle... Clear, light golden ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Malty, fruity nose with notes of grapefruit, vanilla, toffee and a hint of oak. Good balance. Mild to medium sweetness and bitterness with a little vanilla, toffee and oak. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Crisp, fairly clean finish. More like an EPA than APA.
