COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Reviewed 1/16/2010 (Bottle): Pours a very clear, pale yellow color body, big white foamy head, big bubbles, lasting. Very hoppy aroma, citrus and dry. Some sweetness too. Bitter. Pale dry taste, drying citrus. Mostly clean aftertaste. Nice pale ale. Not complex, but good, almost sessionable.

This bottle was a great extra that I received in a recent trade! 22 oz bottle. A- Body is a nearly transparent golden yellow. Pours with an approximately 1 finger foamy white head and leaves some lacing behind in the glass. S-Sweet pale malt collides with a semi-bright citrus and piny hop presence. Nose is on the hoppier side of APAs T-Upfront is a minimal balance of seltzer flavor and some piny flavor with a substantial sweet pale malt backbone. There is a touch of piny and floral hops as well as a sudden quick burst of citrus flavor for the finish and a medium strength hop bitterness lingering. Though my description sounds very hoppy the flavors are all pretty subtle and the general balance of the beer comes through the most. P-High tingly carbonation and light body that is still full and drinkable. O- This is a decent-definitely above average APA that, to me, is pretty typical for the style. It really doesn’t have anything unique and it is quite drinkable-but not my favorite APA. I’m all over the place with this style as it is and this example falls somewhere in the middle of the road. Clear orange light ale from bottle. Aroma fruits, berries, some nuts. Nice foamy head. balanced medium body with crispy carbonation. Medium bitterness. Not too hoppy finish gives a fruity aftertaste could be more fuller and more hoppy. Good ale anyways.

12oz. bottle, with thanks to EinWeizenbitte from over on BA for the bonus. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a choppy one finger white head that drifts to a whisp and a few large bubbles, moderate retention and lacing. Aroma is citrus and light caramel and floral. Flavor is more citrus, with a caramel malt backbone. An enjoyable APA, and continuing to enjoy Firestone as a brewer, thanks again Todd!

Guldig klar med litet vit skum. Mycket citrus humle i både doft och smak. Väldigt fyllig trots låg% med bra beska

Amber color. Smell of hops, caramel, pine, bread and sweet honey. Taste of hops, pine, malt, citrus, caramel and a wonderful bitternes at the end. I like this a lot. Very refreshing. Thanks to brewblackhole.

light brown color with thin white lacing, mild hop aroma, not very strong, little tones of malt as well. nothing remarkable about the flavor either, a decent balance of grassy hops and sweet malts, but the whole thing just seemed a little weak. body is light and clean, finish is crisp and nothing lingering behind to sour your palate. what there is of this brew is good, but the flavors were a bit muted, and could use a little boost.

12 oz. bottle. Appearance: small white head that diminishes almost instantly, good lacing, clear golden-yellow color. Aroma: floral, resin, grass, faint malty bread smell. Palate: light body, thin and dry texture almost wine-like, average carbonation, light bitter finish that is rather short lived given the style. Taste: fruity sweetness at the front, followed by orange rind bitterness on the back end. Overall, very refreshing beer and different; the feel is really nice.

Barely average IPA, pour was nice golden amber color. Slight off hop presence in the aroma, with more malt than anticipated. Well balanced, but just doesnt really click with the buds.

Nice. Pours golden yellow, with a dense white head. Aroma is sweet citrus. Drinks very light, with a dry peppery finish.
