COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

A prickly bitterness is a good way to describe this. I like that sort of finish. Man, Piscator knows his stuff. thanks for sharing this with me. It was great

~Big aroma of floral and citrus hops, slight grassines, Some sweet bready malts in background. ~Light clear copper color with persistant creamy white head, lacing. ~Citrus flavor very well balanced with bready malts ~Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Citrus bitter finish that lingers. ~Excellent Pale ale. The hops are showcased and delicious. Well done.

12oz bottle: Mostly clear amber body with a small white head that is somewhat lasting. The aroma is malty, sweet, light caramel, and has some light citrus hop notes. Taste is sweet malt up front, a bit of caramel, and then fresh, grassy hops, sugary grains, bitter caramel, cereal, and lemon. Light-medium bodied, medium carbonated, finishes with mild grassy hops.

Bottled 02/2014. Pours a light golden honey color with a small white head that dissipates quickly and notable lacing. Aroma is orange, grapefruit, sweet malts, lots of citrus. Flavor is very sweet up front, almost candy-like. Certainly a less bitter strain of hops, more sweetness in the middle of the mouth and a long bitter clean finish and aftertaste. Medium carbonation. It’s light and very drinkable.

On tap at the brewery, served in a snifter. Pours clear straw-golden with a small, white head. The head fades slowly to a thin remnant, leaving a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has huge notes of pine, flowers, lemon and grass, along with a moderate amount of grain. The flavour starts out slightly sweet, but soon becomes moderately bitter. The finish is average in duration with a moderate spicy, peppery finish. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice pale ale with a generous, hoppy nose. Served very fresh at the brewery, and well worth another try. 2011-06-08

Bottled. Beer is a clear, medium orange with a small, frothy, white head that vaporizes immediately. The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain; Hoppy with a moderate notes of lemon, flowers and iced tea, trace of resin/pine. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with a longer than average, lightly-to-moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly sweet finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is fizzy. I have really enjoyed the delicate, refreshing notes in this beer. It’s highly drinkable, yet still reasonably complex.

12oz bottle poured clear golden hue w/ a med-large frothy white head and excellent lacing. Big aromas of floral hops, pine, citrus and a biscuity malt. Taste is a crisp light sweetness initially with a dry hop bitterness of short duration on the finish. Flavors of grain, biscuit, pine, and lime. Body is medium, a slightly dry texture, lively carbonation. A lovely beer.

Bottle from McHughs. Pours clear amber with white foam head. Excellent clarity. Citrus, lemon, fruit. Biscuit malt background with pithy grapefruit finish. Really crisp, refreshing pale ale. This is lovely.

Big hop aroma, hint of honey at back. Bright orange in colour with thick firm white head, Soapy flavour, which is a shame
