COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Sampled at CBC 2013. Clear yellow color, small white to off-white virtually non lacing, mostly diminishing head. Smell lightly malts, lightly bitter, lightly hops. Tastes about the same. No flaws, but a bit boring although that may be caused by the amount of big beers available at the festival. Tastes also a bit thin, but that could very well have the same reason. Would like to try it again sometime on a hot summer day.

Pale golden beer with a thin white head that stays a while. Sparse carbonation bubbles rising. Aroma is delicate floral hoppiness with bready undertones. Flavor is nicely balanced malt and hoppy bitterness. Medium body, lively carbonation. Good brew.

Pours a straw/holden color, lots of carbonation, head dissipates quickly. The beer is a lot lighter than I was expecting. It’s a very approachable, drinkable session beer for sure. Great flavor, crisp, clean. Good stuff.

Bottle. Gold with a modest white head that never quite diappears. Low bead. Floral aroma with grapefruit and mandarin, some pine. Light bodied, low carbonation. Sweet with juicy and zesty citrus flavours, finish is quite dry and moderately bitter. Zesty citrus lingers. The sweetness is dull, the finish is nice.

A very drinkable APA, nothing special, but refreshing on hot summer day. I was expecting more from a dry hopped pale ale.

Aroma of Cascade hops comes out of a golden clear pour. Eggshell thin head. Taste clean, slightly dry up front with a slight bitterness throughout. Finishes refreshingly bitter and clean as well.

On tap at Firestone Walker Taproom, Buellton. A clear golden beer with a dense, finger thick off-white head. The aroma is grassy and piney, like smelling a hop pellet. Some tropical fruits and sweetish pale malts too. The flavor has a nice bitterness, along with the other hoppy things found in the aroma. Some sweetness. Full to medium body, velvety. Long finish. A nice one, although a bit simple. 130809

Cask. Coppery brown with thin white lasting head. Aroma of some malt but served too cold for much else Taste is similar to English bitter. Some malt , not too much hop showing. Thin mouthfeel
