COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parabajava ia an ongoing series exploring the infusion of coffee into our Parabola Barrel Aged Imperial Series. This first offering is a collaboration with the famed Intelligentsia Coffee Company, utilizing their El Diablo espresso blend. This beer was crated for our June 16th Father’s Day brunch at Lot 213 in L.A. The coffee brings intense coffee house espress aroma - roasty carmel, toffee, molasses and fresh ground coffee notes. The flavor melds well with the big rich character of the stout - complementary roasty flavors, dark baker’s chocolate, and more caramel which pairs well with Parabola’s rich malt and smokey oak bourbon notes. The finish is amazingly smooth and integrated. I’m pretty stoked on the results!

Bottle share @ Hampton Inn pre-DLD 2016. Pour is black with a medium tan head. Flavor and aroma of dark roasted coffee, dark fruit, chocolate, sweet bourbon, and espresso. Finish is very boozy compared to the body.

Bottle courtesy of Michael (misterburd), you rule for getting me this one. This is definitely built off of Parabola, and while it’s got that thick, chewy body and boozy chocolate flavor, it also has its own nuances from the coffee additions. It takes an already great beer and makes it different and possibly even better.

Pours black with a tan head (that has some dark brown spots). Smells of bourbon, molasses, oak, chocolate, with a roast that lingers around the nose. Taste is sweet chocolate, molasses, oak, a bit of coffee, with a warm bourbon finish. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy with low carbonation. Overall: its good of course, but it lacks coffee. I guess it has already faded. Im gonna seeks this one when ever it comes out again.

On draught at Brouwer’s Cafe during "6 Degrees of Inebriation" on 04/09/2016. Brown black color with some ruby around the edges. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted coffee, malt and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of roast coffee and malt, oaky bourbon and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty with a bourbon-infused mocha aftertaste. Really good all around.

Bottle poured into a snifter..opaque with a thin tan head..aroma of coffee,bourbon,vanilla,chocolate..taste of all the previous..14% ABV extremely well hidden.. Went down smooth..and cap was loosened so some spilled out during shipping but only slight oxidation.. Wonder what a yr or 2 of aging would do..good stuff.

On tap @ Brouwer’s. Pours thick blackish brown with medium creamy mocha head that fades quickly, nice lacing. Aroma is rich creamy chocolate, cocoa nibs, fresh coffee, oak, dark molasses. Taste is big, rich fudgy chocolate; fresh roasty coffee, oaky and dry on the back. Layers upon layers of chocolate. Impressive beer. Coffee melds well with the base Parabola, otherwise this carries the same flavors though with a notably richer chocolate flavor. Bourbon notes are there, but dominated by the chocolate and coffee.
