Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.
An extension of Quercus Alba óthe Firestone Walker Barrel aged program. Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

Out of the bottle at Bangers in Austin, TX -- I drank this, but cannot effectively rate this due to the fact that after the first two sips/gulps I donít remember anything (due to Parabolaís inherent high ABV or my dehydrated, "Iím okay" state). Would like to try again but for what I can remember this was an impressive beer, including but despite itís price tag.

A - 4/5 - dark brown/black beer w a mocha head that fades quick due to the abv. Looks like motor oil. S/aroma - 10/10 - bourbon, oak, smoke, dark chocolate, espresso Taste - 10/10 - super smooth, chocolate, coffee, oak, bourbon, smokiness, roasted malts, nice barrel flavors, caramel. Coconut. Palate - 5/5- super thick, alc covered, aftertaste - coffee, bourbon, roasted malts, smoke, oak/bourbon barrels. O - 19/20 - the best BA imperial stout Iíve had. Supposedly the best of the batches so far. I donít have a basis for comparison but Iíd believe it.

4/20/2014 in fort Collins. Weed was legalized this year and for 420 I came put after eating some weed cookies and to cap off a day of drinking I found a parabola 2011 in bottle. Bought. Gets better with every sip. Nose is Bourbon and chocolate and booze. Mouth feel is smooth. Chocolate coffee taste.

Poured from tap to glass. Jet black hue with light brown creamy head that lingered. Aroma is huge with essences of roasted malt, caramel, plums, oak, cherries, chocolate, leather. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and good carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a nice astringent following and smooth ethanol heat throughout the finish. Overall this is an absolutely fantastic brew!

Wow is this good. The word on the 2014 vintage is vanilla. Itís what Iím getting in spades. Nary a hint of booziness or alcohol heat, and yet weíre talking 14% ABV. Wow wow wow.

Alcohol, sweet, candy licorice, hint of chocolate smell, light brown head, dark as night look. There is a reason why this stout is rated so high, it seems like most of the stouts you try are too bitter or too sweet or too coffee based, but this one is a perfect blend of everything. It is so smooth going down, itís like drinking a soda. Incredible!!! I just drank the 2004 14% bottle and let me tell you something you wouldnít know it was 14%.
