Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.

Another release of one of the best bourbon imperial stout. Smooth, bourbon with a hint of licorice.

Got around to trying the 2014 tonight, and my first thought was that this is way better than I remember last year’s being. And I loved Parabola last year. Quite dark and opaque. The nose is surprisingly subdued for such a big beer, but butterscotch is mostly what comes to mind. Taste is exquisite. Seemed a little boozy my first few sips, but once my palette adjusted I didn’t want to change a thing.

A very complex stout with a high abv - nice notes of bourbon, dark fruits, chocolate. Nice dark pour with small tanish head..

Parabola - Firestone Walker Russian Imperial Stout 14% ABV APPEARANCE: Pours a deep shadow black from a bright sunny day. Slight dark chiclayo rim variation. With a pillowy, creamy mocha head. AROMA: Ginger bread pudding topped with coconut ice cream drizzled with a bourbon caramel sauce. Hints of raisins, and heat from the high ABV. TASTE: Sexy and seducing layers that evolve in your mouth. Chocolate, leather, tobacco amazingly balanced with raisins molasses and bright oaky flavors. So delicious, just letting it roll back and forth getting more and more flavors each second. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with vivacious and enthusiastic carbonation that dances in your mouth. Some heat from the 14% ABV, that ends with a nice long finish that leaves the mouth coated in a oily sweetness. OVERALL: Very easy drinking and amazing flavor profile. Up until now the bcs has been the top of my stout list, this may have just knocked it off! RATING: 5/5 Zombie Heads! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Bottle 2013 edition at the Hoppy Pub Thessaloniki. Pours Black really dark with a thin dark brown head that doesn’t lasts for long. Looks great. Great bourbon aromas with vanilla and chocolate on, and some wood and roasted malts. Full chocolate , coffee flavors and vanilla, bourbon from the aging. Wood, dark fruit and roasted malts are here too, to give me a great pleasure. Full bodied and smooth mouth feel. Long dry aftertaste of milk chocolate and bourbon. Amazing beer. A real brew gem !

Draught. Pours a thick and near-black color with a very small tan head on it. Taste is slightly boozy, but still inviting, with a fair amount of roasting and a lot of chocolate to it. Taste is very chocolatey and roasty with just a hint of whiskey in there. Very smooth, and yummy as hell. Awesome brew.

2012 vintage. Decadent. Tons of roasted malt, but still not very bitter - the sweeter notes of chocolate and vanilla mostly overpower the bitterness. The alcohol is masked pretty well. One of the better imperial stouts that I’ve had.

2013 edition, labelled "Proprietors Reserve Series #004". Poured opaque inky black with a 1-finger dark tan head that disappeared quickly. Aromas of coffee and wood, with a note of leather beneath. Full body, lightly oily with a mild astringency to the finish. Flavor of coffee with wood notes and a light charred note. Some leather at the back, and maybe some cherry as it warms.
