Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 "another big, expensive, and super good beer from Firestone Walker...though i didn’t like this one quite as much as Black Xantus or 13. Props to FW, They sure know how to barrel a beer. What this one seemed to lack in complexity, it made up for in straight up yuminess. chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon were the main players and the oatmeal stout was super smooth. showed a little of the alcohol but it melded seamlessly with the big flavors."No longer below Black Xantus as of 2013-2014 (significantly better) and just kicked another 4.5 beer’s arse (BA Narwhal) in a head to head.

Poured a dark thick black with instant aroma of bourbon. Heavy oak, bourbon, and tobacco smell. Thick sticky viscosity. Instant flavor of dark chocolate that lasts and lasts. Some nuttiness as well. Not as big of a bourbon taste. This guy is very well balanced and very delicious.

Medium brown, not much head, very toasty, almost marshmallowy nose is pretty intense, bringing waves of dark malt and boozy richness. Very rich palate, stacks of vanilla, biltong, alcohol, prunes, burnt sugars...complex and intense, a nerd favourite.

2014 bottle pours dark brownish black with a small tan head. Aroma is molasses, oak, oats and bourbon. Taste is rich, sweet roast malts and oats with hints of chocolate, tobacco, bourbon, oak and smoke. Boozy but very good Impy stout.

Excelente Imperial Stout barrel-aged! Cor escura, licorosa, com pouca formação de espuma. Aroma de café, chocolate amargo, tabaco, bourbon, baunilha. Complexo. Na boca, desce aveludada, repetindo as notas do aroma. Final longo, com álcool aquecedor, bem inserido. Excelente breja! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle purchased Julio’s Liquor in 2012. Aroma is just elegant. Sweet subtle bourbon, molasses, brown sugar, roasted malt, bourbon vanilla and dark fruit. Makes me want to chug this beautiful beast.

Flavor is up with some of the best Imperial stouts I have ever had. Should I spew the countless flavors I taste here? Bourbon is a light smooth undertone throughout the sip. Toasted oak upfront with vanilla, light sugar, caramel and lingering mellow roasted chocolate malts. Absolutely smooth and aged to near perfection. Hot damn, nice way to celebrate my #3000 rating. Shared with three friends.

2012 bottle, aged two yrs. Pours dark with a khaki colored foam head. The aroma is of sweet toasted malts, burnt carmel, mild sweet bourbon booze scents, soft oak aroma, and vanilla. In the flavor I enjoyed the body and balancing of flavors. I noticed sweet malts, sweet bourbon, mild to medium booze intensity, sugary sweetner, soft bitter dark malts, chocolate, and vanilla. The finish is roasty, boozy, light bitterness that fades, and lasting sweetness that is not overbearing. Overall this was a damn fine brew. I doubt that I could age another one of these a few yrs.

On tap, dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak and bourbon. Taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, slight coffee, oak, and bourbon. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, well balanced. Long bourbon finish that lasts forever.
