Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.

4/20/2014 in fort Collins. Weed was legalized this year and for 420 I came put after eating some weed cookies and to cap off a day of drinking I found a parabola 2011 in bottle. Bought. Gets better with every sip. Nose is Bourbon and chocolate and booze. Mouth feel is smooth. Chocolate coffee taste.

Poured from tap to glass. Jet black hue with light brown creamy head that lingered. Aroma is huge with essences of roasted malt, caramel, plums, oak, cherries, chocolate, leather. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and good carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a nice astringent following and smooth ethanol heat throughout the finish. Overall this is an absolutely fantastic brew!

Wow is this good. The word on the 2014 vintage is vanilla. It’s what I’m getting in spades. Nary a hint of booziness or alcohol heat, and yet we’re talking 14% ABV. Wow wow wow.

Alcohol, sweet, candy licorice, hint of chocolate smell, light brown head, dark as night look. There is a reason why this stout is rated so high, it seems like most of the stouts you try are too bitter or too sweet or too coffee based, but this one is a perfect blend of everything. It is so smooth going down, it’s like drinking a soda. Incredible!!! I just drank the 2004 14% bottle and let me tell you something you wouldn’t know it was 14%.

Another release of one of the best bourbon imperial stout. Smooth, bourbon with a hint of licorice.

Got around to trying the 2014 tonight, and my first thought was that this is way better than I remember last year’s being. And I loved Parabola last year. Quite dark and opaque. The nose is surprisingly subdued for such a big beer, but butterscotch is mostly what comes to mind. Taste is exquisite. Seemed a little boozy my first few sips, but once my palette adjusted I didn’t want to change a thing.
