Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.

Poured from tap to glass. Jet black hue with light brown creamy head that lingered. Aroma is huge with essences of roasted malt, caramel, plums, oak, cherries, chocolate, leather. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and good carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a nice astringent following and smooth ethanol heat throughout the finish. Overall this is an absolutely fantastic brew!

Wow is this good. The word on the 2014 vintage is vanilla. It’s what I’m getting in spades. Nary a hint of booziness or alcohol heat, and yet we’re talking 14% ABV. Wow wow wow.

Alcohol, sweet, candy licorice, hint of chocolate smell, light brown head, dark as night look. There is a reason why this stout is rated so high, it seems like most of the stouts you try are too bitter or too sweet or too coffee based, but this one is a perfect blend of everything. It is so smooth going down, it’s like drinking a soda. Incredible!!! I just drank the 2004 14% bottle and let me tell you something you wouldn’t know it was 14%.

Another release of one of the best bourbon imperial stout. Smooth, bourbon with a hint of licorice.

Got around to trying the 2014 tonight, and my first thought was that this is way better than I remember last year’s being. And I loved Parabola last year. Quite dark and opaque. The nose is surprisingly subdued for such a big beer, but butterscotch is mostly what comes to mind. Taste is exquisite. Seemed a little boozy my first few sips, but once my palette adjusted I didn’t want to change a thing.

A very complex stout with a high abv - nice notes of bourbon, dark fruits, chocolate. Nice dark pour with small tanish head..

Parabola - Firestone Walker Russian Imperial Stout 14% ABV APPEARANCE: Pours a deep shadow black from a bright sunny day. Slight dark chiclayo rim variation. With a pillowy, creamy mocha head. AROMA: Ginger bread pudding topped with coconut ice cream drizzled with a bourbon caramel sauce. Hints of raisins, and heat from the high ABV. TASTE: Sexy and seducing layers that evolve in your mouth. Chocolate, leather, tobacco amazingly balanced with raisins molasses and bright oaky flavors. So delicious, just letting it roll back and forth getting more and more flavors each second. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with vivacious and enthusiastic carbonation that dances in your mouth. Some heat from the 14% ABV, that ends with a nice long finish that leaves the mouth coated in a oily sweetness. OVERALL: Very easy drinking and amazing flavor profile. Up until now the bcs has been the top of my stout list, this may have just knocked it off! RATING: 5/5 Zombie Heads! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
