COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2013 Aroma is a really nice balanced note of chocolate, roast and barrel qualities. Some complimentary fruit character. Nice oak, vanilla and oak character. Some faint booziness in the aroma. Pours a dark brown, not quite black with a thin light mocha head that quickly recedes to the edges. No lacing and small legs. Flavor is so nice. Light chocolate and faint roast with balanced fruitiness. Some sweet vanilla and milk chocolate. Fruit is prune and cherry. A bit of alcohol spice in the finish with oak and roast. Medium low bitterness and a faint hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. some silky smoothness to this. Overall this is an amazingly nice beer. So well balanced and with a great mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ CBC-16. Very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, coffee, fruit and hops. Full body with a long bitter sweet finish.

T: I would say medium body. Not pitch black like other BA beers but pretty dark, can see some brown come through in the light. P: Balanced. Get a small hint of booze, chocolate, roasty characters A: Medium body. A slight carbonation to it, not thick. T: Booze and chocoalte. Definitely get the heat from the bourbon barrel but complemented with a slight sweetness. Roasty character not too overwhelming on this beer.

Fun to pour with a viscosity like motor oil. Jet black with hints of brown around the glass edges and capped with a modest tan foamy cap. Smells like a bourbon barrel covered with caramel. Rich taste with toffee, caramel, vanilla, cocoa, oak, bourbon, and plum. For me, the large feel is the best part. Like butter. Just beautiful.

Chocolate, brandy (grapy) and vanilla aromas dominate. Boozy and smoky. Sticky and syrupy texture lingers on the pallet. Lots of depth and complex but a bit too sweet for me.

Sampled from bottle at THT May. Black with light tan head. Big sweet roasted chocolate malts, coffee, toffee. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Full body, smooth, great.

Draught at Hugh O’Neill’s 5/16/16.
Inky black body has dark mahogany tints on the edges suggesting there may be some clarity to it, but it’s difficult to determine. Tan head atop is large and slowly falls to cover.
Oh boy. Did I just get served a pina colada?? Seems they could not have possibly got more pineapple coconut character in to this thing....Just all bourbon and oak with caramel/toffee, raisin and rich chocolate lingering behind it, somewhat menacingly. It’s certainly intense...and the alcohol is pretty well concealed, I suppose.
Wow, this is quite the beer....Rich, sweet, full of fruity raisin and milk chocolate but completely dominated by the rich coconut and pineapple character from the oak. At least there’s plenty of sugar left behind to help soak it up, but that of course creates the problem of leaving a VERY sweet, sugary, syrupy beer. At 14% it’s pretty tough to have anything but that, I guess. Carbonation is low and engaging and helps to some degree, but this is still a monstrosity. Well if you like to be beaten over the head with intense flavors, this is probably your cup of syrup. To its credit the flavors are all clean and enjoyable.

Awesome stout! I love it. Barrel flavor is so complex, full body, silky smooth mouthfeel, oily texture, a bit boozy. Nice bourbon flavor, dark chocolate, coffee, sweet malt, caramel.

Fat på CBC-16. En riktigt bra IS. Fat, bourbon, tobak, vanilj, russin, kladdig chokladkaka. Tjock vätska, söt men med rejält motstånd från fat, välrostad malt. Tung, komplex, lager på lager av smaker. Löjlig gott.

Tap at DC Hama. Great nose with lots of cacao nibs, roasted coffee, toasted caramel. wood and light soy sauce. Average carbonation for the style with a rich and coating feel on the palate. The oak comes out more and the cacao just rides on through on the finish. The alcohol is almost non-existent. A world class beer. Would like to try in the bottle next.
