COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.
An extension of Quercus Alba —the Firestone Walker Barrel aged program. Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

Monster beer. Thick, opaque pour. Thin head. Bourbon, leather, and oak on the nose. Just a little dark chocolate. Smooth, creamy taste while the bourbon comes through on the end. Clearly it’s big, but the 12.5% is well hidden as I wouldn’t guess over 10%. Worth trying if you come across it, but if you’re shelling out $25 a bottle I’d recommend one of FW’s blended anniversary offerings instead.

Bottle: Thanks Victor: Vintage 2011: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a small brown head. Aroma of bourbon, roast, chocolate, wood, forest spices. Flavours of chocolate, marshmellow, marzipan, bourbon, roast, light alcohol burn, dark chocolate, bitter, mocha, some wood, some vanilla, some clay. Aftertaste of dark chocolate, mocha, roast, some bourbon and wood notes. Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, fuller bodied and a light sticky texture. Nice stuff!

On tap. Pour is close to black with a very thin white head. Aroma and flavor of dark chocolate, peat, oak, tobacco, and herbal hops. Finish is slightly bitter with the booze coming through. Solid.

2014 vinatge, bottle. Pours a pitch black, fairly opaque with a nice bubbly mocha colored head that breaks into a nice ring around the glass with some spotty lacing. Nose is loaded with bourbon, wet oak, dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is silky smooth with the chocolate and coffee dancing around the palate early before moving into a bittering tobacco/dark chocolate/char notes. The coffee lingers into the vanilla, oak and the bourbon finishes them all off nicely! Great beer!

660ml bottle - thanks VastActiv and the rest of the Hel crowd!
Black with reddish glints, small tan head. Sticky roasty aroma, ooooh - crazy sweet. Taste is just stupidly sweet. Some vanilla is nice. But apart from that all I’m getting is sweetness, sugar, sweet stuff, sugary stuff, and sweetness. Predictably sticky palate. Almost undrinkable due to its absurd sugariness.

660ml bottle (tasting @VastActive place, thanks). Clear very dark brown color. Medium size, brownish head, stays. Sweet, caramel, malty notes in aroma. Caramel, toffee, malty, sweet notes in taste. Alcohol is there, but not disturbing. Sweet malty aftertaste. Nice one!

2014 vintage bomber poured into proprietor’s glass. Poured dark black with a minimal head. Knock your socks off bourdon and dark chocolate aromas. I mean wow, incredible. Incredible dark coffee and chocolate taste, strongly accompanied by the bourbon. What an incredible beer. Wish I had the pleasure of this wonderful brew every night.

Its been a long time since I’ve had it. Pour from a bottle is a nice opaque black with a sweet malty aroma. Taste is coffee with a hint of chocolate. Leaves a smooth rich after taste.
