COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.
An extension of Quercus Alba —the Firestone Walker Barrel aged program. Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

Great, dark malty beer, the ABV comes through a little which is okay considering how robust this beer is. The Walker does it again with another solid beer.

Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, grilled cherry, tobacco, raw cacao, toasted coconut, freshly baked macaroons, subtle vanilla, subtle booze, subtle char. Black, mostly lasting chocolate ice cream-colored head. Dry, deep, super complex, flavor profile mirroring the array of aromatics, earthy, chocolatey, redolent of cooked and dried cherries and berries. Full bodied, quite smooth especially considering the ABV, deep, a sipping beer for sure, possibly the greatest I’ve had to date.

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks Wyatt! Dark brown/black colour, brown foam. Soft carbonation. Complex aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and caramel. Medium sweet, light bitter. Well balanced. Good Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout.

I'm not well versed in the art of beer reviews so I'm not going to make up a bunch of stuff. I will say that it is a hearty beer that does not go too strong on the bourbon flavor.

Bottle: Thanks Victor: Vintage 2011: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a small brown head. Aroma of bourbon, roast, chocolate, wood, forest spices. Flavours of chocolate, marshmellow, marzipan, bourbon, roast, light alcohol burn, dark chocolate, bitter, mocha, some wood, some vanilla, some clay. Aftertaste of dark chocolate, mocha, roast, some bourbon and wood notes. Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, fuller bodied and a light sticky texture. Nice stuff!

On tap. Pour is close to black with a very thin white head. Aroma and flavor of dark chocolate, peat, oak, tobacco, and herbal hops. Finish is slightly bitter with the booze coming through. Solid.

2014 vinatge, bottle. Pours a pitch black, fairly opaque with a nice bubbly mocha colored head that breaks into a nice ring around the glass with some spotty lacing. Nose is loaded with bourbon, wet oak, dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is silky smooth with the chocolate and coffee dancing around the palate early before moving into a bittering tobacco/dark chocolate/char notes. The coffee lingers into the vanilla, oak and the bourbon finishes them all off nicely! Great beer!

Dunkelbraun bis schwarz. In der Nase intensiv ohne Ende. Vanille, Eiche, Bourbon, Karamell, Schokolade, geröstete Kokosnuss, dunkler Zucksr. Am Gaumen wärmend, Vanille, Bourbon, Röstmalz, gegen Ende Bitterschoko und Kaffee, leicht herb leicht alkoholisch. Unfassbar cremig und angenehm. Boom.
