4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Part of a special "barrel" week at The Beer Junction. $3.60 for a 4oz pour, listed as 13.0% ABV. Opaque, black color with a tan head. Aroma was roasty (borderline burnt smell), picked up on the alcohol and bourbon. Flavor was really potent and bitter. It was thin and didn’t leave any lace. Very strong bourbon aftertaste. This was part of a 4 beer sampler (all barrel aged) and I would say it came in 3rd. Definitely not bad and worth a try.

Fantastic beer. Drank it side by side with BCBS and could hardly tell a difference. Black pour from 22oz bottle at home. Full whiskey, vanilla, coconut, chocolate and cocoa flavor. Outstanding beer

this one tastes identical to bourbon county brand stout. so much we did a side by side and there is almost no difference. strong notes of roasted coffee, chocaolate, and bourbon. super smooth and soft on the pallette. top 5 stout anyday.

Finally a beer that lived up to the hype! This was truly worth the hassle of obtaining. Taste mouthful is world class. Creamy burbon explosion describes it best.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours jet black with very little head retention and no lacing. Smells of caramel and butterscotch. A very good beer. Tastes like butterscotch and you can really taste the bourbon in this. Love it!

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Poured that deep black color, and I could catch that hint of oatmeal with smell, but was pretty subtle. Was not as creamy and smooth as I expected but still extraordinary

Oh why, mess around-- I love this beer and have for years. It is everything a big impy stout should be...viscous, balanced flavors (of anise, cocoa, coffee, and molasses), semi-sweet, and just plain unflawed. love it.
