Thanks Mac! Dark black, plenty of tan head. Roasty aroma; liquid caramel, little charred, bit of tequila heat. Full body, damn tasty.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2013 On tap at the brewery. Aroma is light agave barrel. Sweet and subtle. Amazing aroma. Head fades. Coat mouth with barrel quick fade to agave. Bitterness does not build but light barrel builds.

(Tap at Toronado, Aug. 2013) Beautiful beer and by far the best tequila BA stout Iíve had. Itís spicy, itís dark, sweet and thick, itís creamy and itís strong! Just an incredibly enjoyable imp. stout, so pick it up if you get the chance!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared at Sante Adairius. Dark pour with a small tan head. Aroma has a kinda fudge + spiced rum thing going on, rum cake and chocolate sauce, just deep sweet and spicy notes. Flavor gives me a lot of syrups and gooey cakey stout luxury with integrated rum spices and a perfumey mild alcohol heat. I prefer this to the recent anniversary beers, to be honest.

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, light maple syrup, smoke, vanilla, and maybe a hint of bourbon. Iím not getting any tequila. It pours a dark brown, virtually black, with a small light brown head that quickly fades to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate, some molasses, and maple syrup. The finish has some light oak, smoke, and vanilla. Itís full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall, very tasty and on par with Firestone Walkerís barrel aged offering. I never get any tequila though.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Bottle: thanks, Kevin! Completely black, inky pour with a light-tan head that settles quickly to a thin collar. Aroma is mild, milky cocoa, dry wheat that hints towards rye (must be the buckwheat), light plums, a small hint of anise, faint maple, & a finishing touch of vanilla. Nice underlying sweetness, almost milky but still a decent roast. Taste is sharp cocoa, milky & only slightly bittersweet with some dry buckwheat & rye, a hint if boozy oak, light vanilla, & just a touch of plum & fig fruitiness. Nice voluptuous body, pretty nice stuff. Dry buckwheat & rye-like aftertaste. More maple syrupy & bourbon as the beer warms up.

651mL shared with biggirlpanties at Brouwerís Cafe, Seattle. Pours a deep, clearish brown. Low foam. Nose is denser tomato paste, stickier bourbon, cake batter, soy, dark cherry. Taste is definitely boozier than Parabola, which may be off putting for some folks, but it isnít overpowering with more of a rum cake softness. Lots of spicy chocolate and dumps the coffee flavor of Parabola. Palate is the highlight with the buckwheat adding some extreme silkiness. Thick mouthfeel. Really nice overall as a sweet dessert ASA. Not really that roasty or bitter so I wouldnít call it an Imperial Stout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Falling Rock in Denver during GABF. Very excited about the use of tequila barrels here, but felt they were too muted. They were overshadowed by the bourbon barrels which pushed the beer back toward more conventional BA beers. Outside of that, the beer was a bit rough around the edges. A touch over carbonated, a sharp bite on tongue, and not a perfect melding of the various flavors. This could have definitely used a little maturity to bring everything together. Still, though, this might be a bit harsh as I'm primarily comparing this to parabola, which is just world class. This is still a very good beer

On tap at Falling Rock. Pours a dark brown with thick creamy tan head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roast booze and chocolate. Thick mouthfeel with light booziness vanilla, nuts and nice lingering sweet finish. Agave flavors come in as the beer warms. Very impressive.
