Appearance: Pours brown with a bubbly tan ring.

Aroma: Banana, chocolate, juicy fruit. Taste. Chocolate, dark bread, banana burnt roast, oak. Mouthfeel: Full bodied modest carbonation. Overall: Very interesting and complex. Between the buckwheat and the tequila fruitiness, its one of the most bizarre strong stouts Iíve ever had, and I mean that in a fun way.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2015 Bottle at apex. Pours a cloudy brown color with a small whisp of head. Huge nose of Tequila and toffee. Fresh huge citrus, lively malty toffee, caramel, huge fruit beer. Awesome. We split the bottle with some cool folks from Nevada. The overall flavor is robusty fruity barrels with huge sweet malty bases of toffee, chocolate and molasses. Damn awesome.

Bottle.Deep black but thin-looking. A frothy layer of tan, one finger, recedes after a minute or so. Sweet dark cherries, roast, dark chocolate, funky tequila, big oaky vanilla and toasted coconut in the nose, in that order. Sweet, funky aroma. PHENOMENAL flavor. Smooth roasty milk chocolate, oats, cocoa nibs, marshmallow, lactose, vanilla, toffee, wheat. Damn. Fairly thin for its strength; a bit watery, with throat-warming alcohol and gentle touches of carbonation. This just might be my favorite barrel-aged Firestone beer.

Bomber: Shared by Benzai: Served in a Duvel glass: Black beer with a light brown head. Aromas of roast, poop, chalk, tar, cacoa, alcohol, raisin, liquorice... Strange but ok aroma... Flavours of spice/alcohol, roast, liquorice, wood roast, some tequila, sharp/stingy, less sweet soy, chalk, cacoa... Itís ok but still tastes a bit young... Aftertaste is a mix of wood roast, some fruit tones, bitters, chocolate with a sprinkle of tequila. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, full bodied.

Bottle @ home shared with Countbeer. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, bourbon, raisins, lightly vanilla, chocolate, sweet overripe dark fruits. Taste malts, lightly vanilla, bourbon, tequila comes through a little while I didnít get that in the aroma, alcohol, bitter, slightly roasted malts. Medium body, medium carbonation. Lovely beer, but the flavor isnít on the same level as the aroma.

Bottle... This beer rocks!Ö Pours clear and almost black with copper highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The bouquet is chocolaty, nutty and boozy with an undercurrent of toasted coconut. Full-bodied and velvety with tickling carbonation. The bittersweet, woodsy flavor is also boozy, chocolaty, burnt and nutty. Deep-roast finish. Fantastic, world-class blend supplied by 50belair!

Bottle bought at Toronado SF in August 2013. Batch nr 001. Black with a small tan head. Very nice aroma of licorice, tequila and something that reminded of Kahlua. Similar taste, also dark chocolate, dried fruit and oak. The finish was long and with warming alcohol. A great beer!

@Gyllenbock 14-11-17: härligt fyllig doft med stora toner av arrak och tequila. Härlig smak med balanserad fat. Stora toner av torr kaffe och bitter choklad. Fin len eftersmak. Het men gott. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Sample from 2013 bottle at Kurtkeller 018: Tequila-aged and Letís Agree to Ruin Our Evening with Pepper beers-tastic 01 on 11/04/2014. The beer is an opaque black color with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, dark fruit and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, figs, chocolate malt and subtle tequila. The finish is oaky and chocolaty with a boozy aftertaste. Very good all around.
