On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a clear pale golden bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of big oaky whiskey and sweet pale malt. Body starts with a mild sweetness and caramel notes and some big alcoholic warmth. An interesting brew, but could hide its abv better. Pretty complex though.

On tap. Pours with a hazy vibrant amber body with a minimal off-white head. Aromas of fruit, oak, raw honey, whisky, berries. Flavors are dry, some old hops, fruity notes, oxidations, soggy malt, wood. Somewhat dry. Pretty good, but I have had more expressive components of the anniversary beers.

Draft at FIrestone 14th anniversary party. Poured a golden orange with no head. Aroma was soapy and somewhat grainy. Taste was sweet under attenuated wort sugar and grain. Medium carb. Overall ok.

Draft at Stone, Firestone Walker 14th Release, given to me by Dr. Bill, thank you sir. Golden amber pour, sightly hazy, off-white head. Caramel, oak, sweet malts, vanilla, and light fruit and whiskey.

Draft at the Firestone 14 Release Party. Nose of floral hops, oak, caramel, and a slight bourbony hint. Hazy orange amber with a small beige head. Flavor is light bitterness, caramel, malt, light alcohol, and oak.

Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Big whiskey aroma. Rich malt and a big whiskey/barrel flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Alcohol, whiskey, and matl lingers. A big malty beer with lots of whiskey barrel notes.

golubj (1376) - San Mateo, California, USA - NOV 19, 2008
Draft at City Beer. Mirky orange pour with no head or carbonation visible. Aroma is extremely woody and full of bourbon; good hints of vanilla. Flavor was somewhat sweet malt, but really the whole beer was overrun with the bourbon aging.

On tap, this beer poured a deep ruddy brown with a HUGE vanilla, oak and coconut. It smelled like Scotch. The flavor was also huge and complex, and I could see sitting in front of a fireplace nursing a snifter for a couple hours. Dried fruit, caramel, sugars, oak, alcohol.

Deep amber under holding ecru. Very sticky (literally). Fruity, thick, wheaty nose. Alcohol hits hard late. Pleasantly sweet with a bitter balance following. This certainly sits quite well in a barrel.

Herbal bready and oaked nose. Somewhat hot and peppery up front with some overripe plum notes. Lots of oak and bread come thru. Hot lingering finish.
