COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first foray into the funky world of lambic style beers. These traditional Belgian style ales are exposed to both wild yeast and bacteria, as well as the addition of fruit, during the secondary fermentation. Ours began back in 2010, with the blend of two wheat ales and inoculated with Brettanomyces Lambicus, Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and lactobacillus. We then added ollalieberries—no, that’s not a typo—and waited patiently for two years! The result is amazing: a distinctively, dry, cidery, fruity, vinuous and oh-so sour beer. Bracing and refreshing.

Bottle thanks to dogday. Aromas are sour berries, oak, musty hay, and light barnyard. Moderate to strong sourness. Lots of tart, acidic berries, green apples and hay. Dry finish. A little jammy sweetness to help balance it. Very nice.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a pinkish deep dark mahogany with a small pink head. Aroma brings out tart funky berries, with an earthy quality that is very fitting. Flavour is very fruity, with sour jammy berries, medium acidity and some light funk. Not the most complex sour but it’s very balanced and highly drinkable. Very nice.

Draft - Tart, sour cherry and light acidity. Deep dark cloudy res with a decent beige head. Light cherry and some vinegar notes. Light, easy drinking and refreshing. Nothing too intense on sweetness or sourness which makes it easy on the palate.
