Draft at Good Dog during a Philly Beer Week event. Mostly clear dark copper pour with a thin but lasting layer of off-white foam. Sporadic lace. Shockingly huge syrupy palate. Gummy body explodes with flavor as it dissolves. Astringent and succulent. Gigantic thick complex boozy barrel notes! Caramel. Molasses. Balsamic vinegar. Tons of wood tannins. Lots of dark fruit. Blackberries. Currents. Dark chocolate cherry cordials. Candied orange peels. Raisins. Prunes. Sweet dark vanilla bourbon. Also has enough of a Brett sour bite to bring things up to a new level. Been informed this is really 12.5%. It feels it - but OMG, there is so much flavor per sip that it is hard to express!

29 May 2015, tap at FW Barrelworks. Light brown, mostly clear, no bubbles. Nose is lightly tart, faint balsamic. Thin body, mildly fizzy. Faintly sour, a tad balsamic, a bit bitter. Interesting. Not the best Flemish red I’ve had.

Some funky aromas, lemony, sharply herbal. Hazy light brown with a fairly lasting off-white head. Dry, sour, pretty funky. Light-medium bodied.

Toffee colored orange.... Aroma of red wine barrel, tannins, oak, dark fruits, caramel... Flavor is red wine, sour and juicy plums, brett funk, light French oak, tannins on palate... Really good

[ Tap ][ 4oz ][ FW Barrelworks ][ $2.50 ][ Tasting Snifter ][ 2.22.15 ]
>> Reginald Brett. Deeper orange pour, weak bubbles. Stickier nose, Red IPA like with pine, sap, sawdust, cherry gummybears. Huh. Taste is salty, a tad bland, tea, oak, light tamarind. Firmer acidity as it warms and much more present oak. Develops nicely in the glass into a mix of salty, sweet, and sour. After about 30-45 minutes this one really cleaned up to a refreshing amber sour.

firestone walker does not dissappoint with theeir barrel program! jesus this was delicious. Great tartness with some oaky vanilla flavors. caramel and toast cut the tart a little and add body. Really good.

"funks up the normal double double quite nicely. "bretted" for 4 months, this has a subtle barnyard fruityness to it that accompanies the imperial pale ale well."

Had on draft unfiltered at the brewery. Dry, tannic, fruity yeast aroma, bready, slight tartness/wheat beer like, better than the bottle.
Earlier Rating: 12/7/2013 Total Score: 3.9
Had on draft at Barrelworks. Raisin, toffee, minimal wild charater, slightly vinous, chocolaty. Tasty beer.

Prufrockstar (1468) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Draft at last drop. God bless Seattle beer week. Aroma is sour tart, caramel, fruit. Murky light amber, khaki head, some retention, no lacing. Taste: lightly tart - nice caramel, fig fruity sweetness with appropriate bitterness at the end. Slick texture, nearly syrupy, full body, light carbonation. Overall: love getting to try any and all barrel aged fsw offerings. This is nice, not quite as intense as some of the offerings. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
