4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
On draft at FW Barrel Works. Simply put, the best sour I’ve had to date. Extremely fresh grape tartness explodes on the scene with a great mild citrus verbena aroma. I’m still in shock over the perfection in this brew!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Slightly hazy yellow pour with a big thick white head at Barrelworks. Very nice hints of lemon and funk in the nose. Great taste - lots of flavors flying around, complex sourness, a touch of barnyard, finishing with sweet lemon and some other juicy fruits that I can’t put my finger on. Very well done.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at FW Barrelworks. Pours a hazy orange color with minimal head. Amazing bouquet of lemon zest, acid, citrus, cut grass, and excellent 3F-like funk. The palate is juicy and drying at the same time, with an intense mix of orange-lemon-lime flavors, acid, and Sour Patch Kid. Looking at earlier reviews, I feel that this beer must have been released too young at the time or has been tweaked, because it is definitely one of the best American-made oak aged sours.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft on tap at the ICBG FoBAB 2012 Brewers/Sponsors Dinner (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich ruby coppe hue, a more hazy middle with deeper glowing edges. A frothy offwhite head dies to a firm film, laces ok. Aromas are a richer sour slant, oak and lactic sourness, citrus and gentle cherry, bit of berry mixes with richer oak, big white wine grape, gentle funky brett grows on the nose. Touches of bready malts, cherry, white wine. Initial is firm lighter end of the fold body preaching a bold sour edge. Lactic, sour cherries and grapes, berry, and white wine hit the palate firmly, taking the middle by storm with citrus, gentle funk grows with touches of melon, some more oak, gentle toasty oak, some bready malts. Richer sour grape and lemon, lactic acidity, moving into a lingering rich funky and sour backend. Gentle carbonation, funk, and spritzy edge gives some nice life. A touch cheesy, some dryness, but a sour light liveliness really sets the table here. Finish is cheesy, a bit more funk ridden, lingering grapes, oak, sour lactic twang. Really nice beer here, giving solid flavors, firm sourness without overiding, good complexity, and a great drinkability without growing into the acedic realm. Well done.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sample at the 2014 Boulders on Broadway Beer Fest. Nice nose of spicy wheat, Brett farmhouse funk, cloves, lemon zest, and citrusy esters. Pours a hazy lemon with a fluffy head. Perfectly tart taste of lemon, a sweet grassy note, and a light white wine note. A darn good refreshing Brett saison.
