A Belgian Quad by recipe, but aging it in spirits barrels garners its own category: Central Coast Quad. A beer formulated to sit on the sweeter and malty side so that we could utilize it for blending. Turbinado brown sugar from Mexico and Belgian candi sugar add wonderful molasses flavors. It has a full body and lush texture with barrel expression all over this beer: toasted oak, coconut, leather and cigar tobacco.

Brown pouring with tan head. Complex malt profile. Some oak but subdued. Some cedar and earthy hops. Finishes with some alcohol warmth. A great strong ale.

This is by far one of the best beers Iíve had. Itís so dark and sweet. It goes down so smooth. I could slowly sip on this all day long, but Iíd get pretty drunk since this is 12.5%.

650 ml. bottle sampled @ Firestone Walker Tasting. Thank you! 2014 Vintage. Best beer of the tasting. Pours a ruby dark brown, little mocha head. Nose is pure bourbon goodness, super thick exotic sugar, vanilla, oak, candy sugar, very sweet caramel malts. Taste is similar, thick bourbon, vanilla, exotic sugar, brown sugar, candy sugar, sweet oak, sweetness coating your mouth, nicely warming, cinnamon. Body is not particularly thick but works well-enough. Awesome.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a very small tan head. Nose is very complex, with notes of dark dried fruits, caramel, treacle toffee, lots of bourbon and vanilla. Flavour is just as amazingly complex, with loads of elegant bourbon barrels, caramel, treacle toffee, dark dried fruits, and brown sugar. Sweet, but no where close to cloying. Incredibly complex and elegant. What an outstanding sipper.

The smell is complex sweet full of bourbon caramel toffee & malt. The taste is complex as well sweet but not overly so full of bourbon, caramel, & toffee just a great experience. One the best mouthfuls iíve personally encountered. This is a fantastic beer that should be enjoyed by all beer lovers. Firestone Walkerís best IMHO!

Clear dark molasses-y brown with no head. Big sticky nose of brown sugar and rich figs and plums. Rich and sticky. Big rich flavor as well with a load of dark caramel, oak, vanilla char, a light bit of cocoa and brown sugar, rich plums and raisins...just superb.

On tap at FW a dark brownish black with a thick tan head. Aroma molasses ever slight funk so incredible! Flavor is way over the top smooth. Sweetly dark fruited with incredible richness. Boozy. Balanced. Just beautifully done. Everything I dreamed of in a Belgium Quad.

750 ml boxed bomber, thanks brenn79. Aroma consists of coconut, caramel, earth. Pours dark brown with red edges with a one finger beige head that falls fairly quick. Taste is sweet and savory, very fine. Fairly low carbonation, syrupy texture, full-bodied. Doesnít seem as complex as other components in the FW Anniversary blends, but itís still so good. Delicious liquid candy.

Bottle thanks to Ontape ! Pours a deep mahogany with two fingers of khaki foam that fizzles out rather quickly. The nose is beautiful with great bourbon influence, rich toffee, sweet vanilla, cola, dark fruit and just pure pleasure ! The palate follows with pure deliciousness that matches the nose with a nice balance of sweetness and booze with the addition of some rustic leather and earthiness that has depth and nuances of vanilla, anise, date, coconut, caramel, kola nut all rounded out with perfect amount of nutty bourbon that lingers. WOW ! More please !

This beer pours a very opaque brown color--so much so that no light penetrates through even shallow pours--and there is no head, only the smallest of light tan rings around the edge. The aroma blends molasses, brown sugar, oak, roasted malts, fig raisin, caramel malts, and a hint of malts; the taste is such an indulgence due to the high sweetness blended well with a mild umami, slight sourness, and a touch of booze flavor, the final of which continues and warms through the finish with a hearty malt flavor alongside it. The palate fuses a oily texture, medium-full body, and a nearly flat carbonation that dances alongside the alcohol warmth, and the mouthfeel only enhances the flavors this beer brings.
