Big boozy bourbon and American oak aromas combined with soft chocolate malty undertones. Complex malt flavors framed in oak, with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, coconut and just a touch of dark cherry. This is definitely a sipping beer, best served in a brandy snifter. This ale pairs well with dark chocolate and sturdy cheeses.

Note: Sucaba is the beer formerly known as Abacus until the Winter 2012 release.

Best barley wine I’ve had. Dark dark brown color, sweet aroma. Strong Bourbon taste when it’s cold but the flavors really show themselves after it sits for a few minutes. Wonderful sipping beer.

Nose of hay, caramel, some lemon, almonds and old bread. Very rich in aroma. Boozy taste but very drinkable, has an etherical touch in the after, I taste malt, vanilla, medium zesty funk, some sweet cognac on the middle of the tongue and slight lemon zest on the sides of the palate. I love the drinkability. Really nice english barley wine, nothing like our European barleys.

Strong bourbon aroma with lots of caramel behind it. Clear ruby with a quickly dissipating fizzy head. Smooth sweet caramel flavor with a bourbon and alcohol finish. Awesome stuff!

2015 vintage. Really decent bawley wine. Lots of toffee, a touch of sherry and with just a trace of woody/spicy hops. Paired exceptionally well with snicker-doodle cookies.

650 ml bottle from bier-deluxe.de.
Dark copper body, with a small, creamy, slightly yellow head.
Complex aroma of chocolate, caramel, wood, coconut, vanilla, dark and dried fruits.
Taste follows this, also very complex and with even more smooth coconut.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes malty, alcoholic, smooth.

Delicious! Heavy, complex, dark, full - simply a big beer! Also quite unique, with lovely, smooth coconut notes. The best Barley Wine I’ve had so far!
