Clear dark red brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, tobacco, laberlaver, alcohol, sweet tobacco, ripped dried fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Lovely ;O) Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110930]

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, caramel, wood, and whiskey. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla, caramel sauce, alcohol, wood, and chocolate, leading to a dry finish. In the very finish the alcohol show up with a slight bite in the tongue. Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Pours amber with a slight haze and an off-white head. Sweet toffee, overripe fruit and heavy sweet oak. Very solid body, thick caramel notes, overripe fruit and sweet, luscious Bourbon. No real bitterness but quite some warming alcohol. Delicious. 080911

From tap at Toronado, Barley Wine Fest. Pours clean dark brown with a small creamy and tan head. Liqourice, molasses and solid caramel malt flavours. Sweet yet not sticky. Dark malty note slowly lingering into the finish. Dark caramelish lasting impression.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Hazy mahogany colour. Oaky caramel aroma. Sweet and massively full bodied. Sweet and intense with oak and vanilla on caramel. Warming and soothing. A big beer for slow sipping.

Bottle @ Morten minus Peter smagning, Ulfborg. Pours ruby amber with a small creamy white head. Nose is oak, caramel, fruit and chocolate. Flavor is oak, vanilla, caramel, dried fruit and vague alcohol. Complex and quite a sipper.

(Draught) Pours a murky dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, oak, chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor of vanilla, maple, caramel, toffee, bourbon, and chocolate with some oak in the finish. This is Heavenly!

Draft @ RFD, Washington DC. Pours a dark ruby almsot black color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit aroma with hoppy hints. Sweetish malty hoppy dark fruit and caramel flavor with weak hints of bourbon. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter slightly woody caramel and dark fruit finish.
