Big boozy bourbon and American oak aromas combined with soft chocolate malty undertones. Complex malt flavors framed in oak, with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, coconut and just a touch of dark cherry. This is definitely a sipping beer, best served in a brandy snifter. This ale pairs well with dark chocolate and sturdy cheeses.

Note: Sucaba is the beer formerly known as Abacus until the Winter 2012 release.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, caramel, wood, and whiskey. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla, caramel sauce, alcohol, wood, and chocolate, leading to a dry finish. In the very finish the alcohol show up with a slight bite in the tongue. Thanks anders37 for sharing.

THE Barleywine tasting. Cheers Bruce! Dark amber brown beer, little tan head.Light palate, a little dry. Mild minerals and aniseed alcohol. Nice toffee with a little malt cream. Bitterish bourbon underneath. Crisp and fairly bitter finish. Nice beer but harsher than I was expecting from the normally super smooth Firestone Walker.
