3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Dan. Clear, very dark brown pour and an aroma of plums, raisins and booze. Flavor is very spicey, boozy prunes, and a little hops along with a hot alcohol aftertaste. Still hot as a young beer, but can only get better with age.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank at ZeeBra 2015 (20-6-2015). This was a dissapointment for me. Very overwhelming bitterness, with very present whiskey dominated by the intense alcohol one-dimensionality.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Decent brew from firestone, with a lot of different tastes that gets trough. Some wood, vanilla and chocolate, but also something pleasant that I can’t really name, but seems very familiar. Nice one.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle shared with jasonn. 2013 vintage. The pour is a beautiful dark ruby brownish color with a thin khaki colored head and some spotty lacing. The aroma is beautiful. There are tons of malts and a beautiful vanilla character. Beyond that the dark fruits and a nice bourbon carry it through the end. The flavor is pretty malt forward, and very good. The caramel and vanilla mesh beautifully with the oak and light bourbon. The malts take a back seat to all of the alcohol heat. The mouth feel is velvety and nicely carbonated. Really smooth. The aftertaste is lingeringly malty with a good bourbon character and a nice vanilla. Excellent barleywine.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, 2015 vintage. Pours a cloudy darker brown color with very little head on it. Nose is quite complex and really nice. Bourbon notes come up at the front, but they don’t overwhelm the woodiness. There are also hints of dark fruit and caramel to it. Though a bit sweet, it’s drier than I would have thought, and quite warming. Smooth caramel raisin paired with bourbon. Really nice...

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep red pour with no head. Aroma is very sweet. Lots of candy and a little sherry. Mouth is a little on the light side, but this was a pretty old bottle (2012). Lots of great flavors. A little citrus, vanilla, candy, sherry & port. Alcohol is present, but doesn’t overwhelm. No lace. Very tasty.
