12 oz. Clear burnt orange with a lasting creamy quarter inch of foam. Juicy citrus fruit , some florals, and toffee on the nose. Soft, light-medium body is smoothly carbonated and crisp. Flavor is orange-grapefruit, light caramel, and a big finish of peppery wood and resin.

Pour from a growler obtained at Whole Foods in Fair Oaks, VA. Pours a transparent dark amber, darker than the usual IPA with a few fingers of fluffy white head. Aroma is awesome, pure pinecone hops, reminds me a lot of Troegs Nugget Nectar. Taste is good, lots of pinecone hops, with a touch of sticky sweetness. A bit maltier than the average IPA. Finish is bitter hops and a touch of malt. It’s very good, but doesn’t quite make the top tier of IPAs- a touch too sticky and heavy.

Growler from Fair Oaks Whole Foods. Dark orange pour with a nice thin light tan head. Lots of pine on the aroma. Flavor dominated by hops. Some caremel malt. Mostly dry with a bit of sweetness. Piny hops with some citrus and a very bitter finish. Good IPA.

A beer that I have been looking forward to trying for awhile! 12 oz bottle. A- Body is a slightly hazy blonde hue. Pours with a 1-2 finger foamy white head that eventually fades to a thick collar and leaves some lacing behind in the glass. I like the haziness of this one-but it is a bit more pale than most IPAs I have come across. S-The nose is pretty great. Piny hops are the main character with some grapefruit and other citrus coming through as well. The slightest hint of caramel malt comes through in the background. T- The initial flavor is really good and offers great citrus hop flavors with a barely noticeable pale malt backbone. The finish gets pretty bitter. There are piny hop flavors, citrus rind bitterness, pine hop bitterness and that seltzer-like bitterness going on. What lingers is nothing but a medium strength residual bitterness from the finish. P- Very high, tingly carbonation and a body that is much akin to seltzer water. Some hop oils can be noticed but are overshadowed by the presence of the carbonation. O- This is a pretty good IPA and I wouldn’t mind trying it again. The high carbonation detracts from it a bit-but maybe there is a way around that-because otherwise this is a great brew. Had from bottle from Total Wine. Pours golden orange with slight head and heavy lacing. Aromas of hops, pine, grapefruit, and citrus. Flavor of tons of hops, nicely balanced with malts. Nice crisp finish with hoppy aftertaste. A new must-have addition for my beer fridge.

Bottle. Crystal clear, yellow-honey pour. A quite foamy, off-white head. Nose holds some pine and certain fruits, perhaps grapefruit. Tastes delicious. Achieves an excellent balance of bitter and sweet notes. Sweet with wonderful citrus character. Medium to full bodied with a resiney mouthfeel. Long and bitter on the finish with some earthiness, smoke and oak. Not too sticky. Great.

Nice citrus aroma, amber color, decent tan head... but this all leads to the taste. This thing is all about the hops but doesnt leave a ridiculous bitingly bitter aftertaste. Loved this, wish i could get more... this is easily the best IPA i can remember having in the past year.

Bottle. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are toast with woody pine and pineapple. Fruity and hoppy. Flavours are sweet biscuit with tropical fruit, especially pineapple. Pine and floral aspects. Bitter on the finish. Good.

Whole grapefruit aroma, flesh and peel, juicy, with a honeycomb undercurrent. Clear amber, medium yellow head. Extremely dry, decidedly bitter. Initially, it tastes of mossy pine, but transforms into definite grapefruit peel. Dry and hoppy from start to finish, but dynamic hop flavor. A bit of a hop bomb with neat character, but balance is lacking. Points for creativity, but not really doing it for me.

Pours a slightly hazed, light amber-ish golden from the 12oz. bottle: A wonderful nose of ripened pineapple, banana, sweet dough, herbs, light citrus peel bitters, and light caramel. Sweet flavors of hay, light fruity esters, citrus peel, and half-baked bread. Definitely has citric hop presence with an herbal backing. Fairly sharp, bitter finish. Drinkability: Citrus, herbal. Pairing: Spicy, baked tofu marinated in Szechuan and chili-garlic sauce. Over quinoa. Rebuy: Yes. #397 on 15042010, DG.
