In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

Bottled. Poured clear, pale orange with a well-retained whitish head. The aroma picked up sweet, fresh grapefruit and greener floral notes upfront over more grapefruit and some caramel.. juicy and well-presented. The flavor found caramel and bready sugars at the core.. pine, grapefruit, and floral bitterness surrounded, slight cardboard showed toward the back.. nice and spicy on the finish. Medium-bodied and quite bitter overall on the palate.. balance was very good.. complaints were few and far between with this one!

Bottle. Poured pale orange with medium white head. Full sweet citrus aroma. Flavour is citrusy, some naartjie, some grass, with a bit of a malt. Lasting hop finish. Drink this when offered.

Cloudy, dull, dark yellow. Frothy white head, big bubbles. Grassy, nutty roastedness. Bready, hoppy and very little bite in the finish.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2010 12oz bottle. had to re-rate this one with a fresh bottle dated 3/10/10, from grape & gourmet. pours a hazy orange with a thin, whispy white head leaving a light ring of bubbly lace. aroma great with big, juicy, grapefruit citrus, orange marmalade, and sweet floral hops with light pine resins and a toasty, sweet touch of caramel malts. flavor is excellent as well with loads of bitter and spicy orange and grapefruit citrus, hints of apricot nectar, and a bit of vanilla with a solid balance of caramel malts. palate is medium bodied with solid carbonation and a nice, lingering, bitter citrus finish. overall, an excellent IPA that is much better fresh (duh).

Mild haze, orange hue. Sticky lacing. Looks appealing but no more entrancing than any other well-crafted IPA. Smells nice! Marmalade and toffee up front with grapefruity hoppiness. A little sweet in the beginning. Nice, cleansing bitterness in middle and finish. VERY enjoyable. Par with Sculpin, a wee bit less than Squall and 90min.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2010 A brilliant medium golden-yellow beer with a dense white head. Nice biting hop aroma with a dankness (gotta be the Simcoe!) that’s followed by an equally powerful hop taste with piney overtones. All those hops still balance nicely with the firm malt body making this an easy drinking IPA.

Pours orange with white head, aroma is full of citrusy hops and some caramel. Taste up front is a nice citrus and pine hop combination moving into a bit of caramel sweet that bitters well. Bright, crisp, and hoppy goodness, something I can drink all the time! Excellent IPA.

Bottle from After4Ever. Pours a transparent orange color with a small white head that recedes to a small ring and a light film. Bubbles slowly meander upwards to the surface. Nose is heavy fruit and citrus up front with a nice malty background. Palate is sticky, filmy, full. Mouth is sticky and flavorful. Flavors of dry fruit notes, nice and hoppy, palate is wonderful, dry finish.
