An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 Re-rate: The more I drink this beer, the more I like it. It has become my everyday beer. It is consistently fantastic. Fuck two hearted, this is the best available/affordable IPA on the market. Pours a clear amber with a 2 finger white head that fades after about 1 minute. Strong aromas of grapefruit, mango and pineapple dominate the nose. Strong start for this well hyped beer. Ok, looks good, smells good, let’s put it to the taste test. Very nice. I’m getting the fruity bitterness that the nose alluded to, followed by a nice dose of malt. The thing I like best about this beer is the fact that it finishes dry. I’m so sick of syrupy IPA’S lately that this is a welcome relief. This is right up there with hop stooped in my book... Just a tick less alcohol. Very well executed.

Hoppy but smooth with a nice bitterness and a touch of caramel like malt underlying everything. Balanced with a nice bit of breadiness and the lightest touch of spice.

On Tap - Kite & Key. Poured clean golden with good head and lacing ringing the glass as I quickly devoured this delicious IPA. Aroma of pineapple and citrus with a little pine. Tastes of pineapple and citrus hops. Light malt and pine flavors coming through as well with a good bitterness and mouthfeel

Damn good IPA. More floral on the nose than any other aroma, flavors are full of light hop-oils—flowery citrus, with a bit of pine lingering in the earthiness. Clean grain body underneath. drinkable and extremely enjoyable beer. Never disappointed by FW.

Lighter golden appearance. Florals and hops on the nose. Medium bodied and highly carbonated. This shows some elegant citrus flavors before transitioning to a balanced hop finish. Very good.

Has that grapefruit citrus floral hop nose. Foamy one finger head. Pale amber color. Has a touch sweetness in the middle with a blast of bitter down the middle. As my palate adjusted it grew sweeter. Although some sourness lingers it has a enjoyable clean finish. I’ll be adding this to my list favorite West Coast style IPA’s.

This is a very nice IPA. Definitely picking up grapefruit hoppiness. Nice amber color, moderate white head dissipates quickly. Fairly uncomplicated. 5-j

Poured from 12oz bottle into tulip glass. Bottled date 1/20/12. Aroma: floral hops and citrus. pineapples and spruce Appearance: pale copper color and quite clear. very little head formed and faded quickly. Taste: medium sweet and lightly sour at first followed by medium bitter and medium sour. Palate: medium body and creamy texture. lively carbonation. bitter and sour finish but fades after a few seconds. Overall: a bit too much bitter and more sour than i prefer. the mouthfeel is great though. good sipping beer at 7.5%. probably wont pick this up again but dont regret my purchase.

Aroma of citrus, douglas fir, and some herb. Pours amber with a thick sticky head. Taste is nice and bitter. Dry with grass, citrus and slight aftertaste of pine. Great bitter IPA.
