An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

22oz bottle. I have had a few of these now and each one keeps getting better. As another rater said "this is how IPA should be". Goes down like velvet and leaves you wanting more!

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot, grapefruit, resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Pretty standard American rendition. Fruity and resinous hops, reasonably well balanced. Nothing special but decent enough.

Bottle @ home. Clear, copper orange appearance with a big, fluffy, off-white head. Nice piney-sprucey, hoppy, toasty malty nose. A touch citrusy, creamy, piney, somewhat bitter hoppy, toasty malty, slight citrusy flavor. Very smooth and easy drinking for 7.5% abv. This is how IPAs should be made.

On tap. Excellent west coast IPA. Citrusy hops in the aroma and taste, very well done. The alcohol is pretty much invisible, could drink this all night!

12 oz bottle courtesy of Pineypower, thanks Dean. Poured a clear orange body with lots of clinging carbonation originally sitting underneath a large foamy bright white head. Aroma started off with a large dose of citrus fruit and rind with some appricot and mango as well, wet grains lemon zest and lime towards the end. Fuller bodied with full carbonation and a dry bitter fiinsh. Flavor is missing the tropical fruits but there is plenty of grapefruit and rind, toast, bitter lemon zest and hop cones. This packs a serious hop punch and could easily be mistaken for a DIPA. Great beer.

Slightly hazy golden color with a thin head, bold taste right way with citrus notes and a very hoppy presence. A bite of bitterness with bright carbonation to finish. I would drink this one again.

Pours amber with off-white head. Nose full of mild caramel and toast. Medium to heavy on the tongue with a perfectly balanced toffee, toasty malt, and ripe date flavors. Hops are resinous with subtle apple character. Impressive IPA.

Amber coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a short white head. Fruity almost peachy hoppy aroma with some floral hints. Medium to full dry palate. Finish is bitter dry hinted. Very special, fruity ending with a sharper bitter light herby hint. Nice and special.

650 ml. bottle. Pours a lasting ivory head, with extensive lacing, over a clear light amber (SRM 7) body....nose is citrus, grapefruit peel, cereal, light toffee/caramel....taste is grapefruit to start, then toffee/caramel sweetness, with hints of floral honey, followed by a pine, citrus lingering bitterness....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, carbonation adds creamy tones. This is a well balanced, not overly bitter, nicely complex, "American/Left Coast" IPA. BJCP 7/3/15/4/8
