An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

(bottle) pours a clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of heavy resin, with a light tropical fruitiness, some straciatella, caramel and lavender. flavour is again heavily resinous, though also quite floral, with notes of mango, passion fruit and caramel. medium to heavy-bodied with soft carbonation and a bitter finish.

Foxy to reddish beer, slightly reddish-coloured head. Dull nose, dusty and oxydized, bad bottle? Citrus, especially oranges in the flavour, but again oxyidation obvious. Dull, flattish palate. Probably an old or skunked bottle, retrying in order.

Clear amber pour with white head. Hoppy aroma-pineapple. Taste is so good. Nice balance of hops and mal. It leaves a nice fruity hop aftertaste. This is a remarkable beer.

Huge billowy head lives up to the mug shot on the label. Very smooth, drinkable IPA. Very hoppy, grapefruit flavors in every sip. I am a IPA fan and this is definitely a well priced beer I will continue to consume. Nice amber color and finishes very nice. I like a little bitter kick at the end. This one wonít dissappoint!!!

12 oz. bottle. pours a clear light amber with a smallish white head, fading to a ring around the glass with decent lacing throughout. aroma of grapefruit, some orange and pine. flavor has some sticky malt sweetness, but this one has a nice lingering bitterness through-out. low carbonation, just enough to bring it all together. finding a beer like this is why I still enjoy trying new ( to me ) and untried beers. very nice IPA!

Draft at Lemon Tree. Sometimes, a wonderful can help transcend a really awful day. Like today. Aw, letís skip the details and describe the beer they had fresh on tap during half-price draft Tuesday. A zesty fresh hop smell from the glass while itís still sitting two feet from me. From its name, I thought itíd be an English IPA, but this has a lot of Yankee in it. A clear amber color that only shows a little haze up close, with a spongy head that ends up lacing the glass. Getting closer, the nose reveals hints of green grass, currants, lemon and some pine from hops. A very hoppy mouthfeel, big on green hops, but still very enjoyable. After the first few sips, we find thereís some thick, sticky malts. Produces hoppy burps, too. Exactly the beer I wanted to feel a little less down tonight.
