The color is a golden orange with a small soapy head. First sniff makes me smile, nice hoppy grapefruit citrus aroma. The flavor is also hoppy with more grapefruit but is not at all unbalanced. This is a very good IPA but what do you expect given that it is from California? Oh, the 7.5% is not noticeable to the taste, nice.

Aroma is rich with faintly grassy earthy hops perfectly balanced with rich caramel malt. Appearance is clear copper with a very well maintained off white head. Flavor is a little more hop forward than the aroma, but still has a very good malt balance with a little more noticeable roast character. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with a very well maintained cream colored head. Overall, a big, very english brew. My only warning is to make sure to enjoy it cold, if this wams up that earhty note turns almost to dirt. BeerandBlues2 (3203), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Draught at Najas Place. Pours clear gold with an average, white head, lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, meal), heavy hop (flowers, perfume, pine), average yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of peach, pear, and apple. Medium bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness. yalnikim (779), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Updated: May 3, 200927/04/2009. 330ml bottle from www.beerstore.co.nz (bottle 01/26/2009). Balanced nose. Big biscuit dough and toffee malt with a huge resinous hoppy character all the way through. Herbal, spicy, pine. Very bitter. Really nice, possibly just a little too clean if I’m going to criticise - but hey, it ain’t English. Fairly dangerous... HonkeyBra (1326), Lemont, Illinois, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Very nice IPA. Herbal and piney hops. Biscuity malt. Extremely refreshing, and hides the high alcohol very well. I’d be at the end of my third pint before realising I was in trouble I think! Great beer. chicagodri (1041), Chicago, Illinois, USA
