Gooney (53), Oregon, USA Oct 30, 2009 22 oz bottle from John’s (left over from IPA fest) - Poured a nice golden color. Slightly cloudy. Fantastic smell to it. Great balance between hops and malt. Good bitterness without overpowering. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Oct 28, 2009 Bottle - thanks odeed. A golden honey colored pour with a small beige head. Pine resin and grapefruit dominate the aroma. Alludes to a soft, wet IPA... At first taste, a smooth blend of citrus and floral hops leads into smooth and sweet medley, before a lingering floral bitter tail. Straight forward and well done. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a copper body with a white head. Very fresh fruity hop character. Pine, citrus, and peach notes. Grapefruit and pine and citrus. Very nice ipa. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 24, 2009 Local bottle. Pretty heavy hitting IPA for me. Pours a clear bronze colour with a small white head and nice lacing. The aroma is pine resin and needles. The flavour adds in some malt and some clean bitterness on the finish. Just seemed a little heavy to me for an IPA. Bitterness stays with you. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Oct 24, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at GBBF. Clean gold with a very good white head and lace. Massive hoppage all round. The Simcoe is obvious and I’m certainly not complaining. Big but never over the top. Bitterness is excellent. Palate is perfectly pitched. All the pine, flowers and citrus you could want for plus a big kick up the arse dry finish. Bloody great beer. Sledutah (23), Utah, USA Oct 23, 2009 12oz bottle. Light golden color with white head and good amount of lace left on the glass. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Flavor is piney with lots of hops, not over the top hop taste. Finishes with a dry bitter flavor. Overall a good beer. coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Oct 20, 2009 Bottle thanks to RiversideAK. Damn. The aroma alone is fantastic. Grapefruit, oranges, maybe some peach. Flavor is wonderful of obvious Simcoe, bringing out the apricot and peach flavor, withe Centennial and Cascade bringing up the pine and bit of flowery goodness with the orange flavor. Lots of bitter to this. This has to rank as one of my new favorite go to beers. What sucks is I cant get it here.. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Oct 14, 2009 Thanks Hayduke! This beer pours a murky caramel color with a tiny light colored head. Sticky and stringy lacing. Nose is caramel and overripe citrus fruit with just a bit of brown sugar. Flavor is complex citrus and passion fruit with a nice bitter bite. Pine and caramel. A very dry sticky aftertaste that builds more fruit tastes. I will say it. One of the best IPAs in the world.
