An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

Translucent golden orange hue with a mid sized white head that rather quickly dissipates. Pungent aroma featuring notes of citrus, pineapple, mango, caramel, grass and potent hops. Mid bodied with a silky tactility. Extremely crisp, refreshing ipa. Citrus and hops reign supreme with various flavours of tropical fruits present as well. Intense fruity citrus is apparent immediately upon consumption, then a lingering hop sensation gradually fades. Not necessarily temporally complex, but the instant flavour is varied and robust. Quite nice.

Can dated best by 9/23 into an IPA. A: Pale orange tinted gold with a 1/2" head. Head fell fast to a ring but left lots of lace. Busy carbonation visible. S: Dry and sweet citrus aromas with light caramel and light toast. T: Bitter pine, citrus pith and zest. Sweet fruit and caramel joins next, with some alcohol. M: Medium body with stiff carbonation and a fairly clean and dry finish. O: Very nice overall though does not quite live up to all the hype imo. In all fairness, this is 5 months old and probably much better reasonably fresh. An easily recommendable IPA nevertheless.

Strong hop aroma towards the piny citrus end. Not too fruity. Clear golden body and white thick cap of head. Hop bitter sits on the tongue. A little sweetness. Good thick body on the tongue.

AROMA-Rich hop aroma, citrus (grapefruit, lime) and ripe tropical fruit like pineapple, fresh piney. Medium malt sweet feels like fruit candy and light caramel, hint of nutty. Balance is very hoppy. Light alcohol. APPEARANCE-Color is orange gold. Light cloudy clarity. Large off-white head, lacing. FLAVOR-Medium malt sweet , light toffee. Strong fruity hop flavor, citrus, tropical fruit, piney. Clean medium bitterness. Finish is crisp hoppy, alcohol enhanced every flavor. Aftertaste is sweet, fruity, resin, light nutty, medium-high bitterness last. Very light astrigency. MOUTHFEEL-Medium body, smooth texture, medium low carbonation. OVERALL-TOP 10 IPA. My favorite.

Light orange color with a white head, good retention with nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy, notes of resins, grapefruit and orange. Flavor has a decent bitterness, very fruity dominated by citrus and orange. Good maltiness in the final with some dry and bittery mouthfeel.

12 oz can. The pour is a darker golden yellow color with a thicker white head that falls pretty quickly leaving some good lace. The aroma is a little more malty than would like with a decent pine on the finish. There is a good dose of tropical fruit and s light resin that carries it out. The sweetness is definitely something that I’m not feeling. The flavor is bitter and lightly fruity. The flavor is actually quite good. There is a nice tropical fruit and a big bitterness to it. The hops are nice and the malt is really subdued. It’s basic, but well done. The mouth feel is light and a little syrupy. There is a softer carbonation and a lingeringly bitter fruitiness on the back end. The sweetness of the malt just likes in a little at the finish, but for the most part it’s a pretty good IPA.

Dorato intenso, limpida. Schiuma frizzantina bianca.
