ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Oct 14, 2009 bottle thanks to bhensonb. poured a light gold with a white head and spotted lace. aroma of peach, pineapple, and orange. flavor was pine, fruity, and grassy bitter with a light body. MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2009 Bomber with special thanks to coyotehunter. Pours a light orange with a dense, medium-sized head. A very pleasant mix of citrus, tropical fruit and resin greets the nose. Lots of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, and so on. Flavor is really good, too, but not quite as strong as the aromas. Pine seems to dominate the palate, but there is a decent amount of light caramel maltiness to balance things out. Finish is bitter grapefruit peels with a little bit of lemon. If I didn’t want to sound like an AB commercial, I’d say that this has a high drinkability rating... err... damnit, I just said it. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2009 courtesy of pretzelcity.
pours golden, white head.
Aroma is hoppy, floral, light malts with hints of pine/spice.
Flavor, hops, spices/pine, floral. Light palate, velvety with hints of malts. Finish with some thin bitterness and caramel. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Oct 10, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericanders. Amber with a cream head. Nose is grapefruits and pineapples. Very nice lb the palate with an overly smooth grapefruit flavor that is awesome. fidel (886), Livermore, California, USA Oct 10, 2009 Poured golden amber, floral hops, citrus, caramel malts, little fruity, little bready. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 9, 2009 draft at naked city. yeah, ok. lets get it out of the way up front and be completely clear about the fact that this beer kicks holy ass. great sessionable ipas are not as common as statistics might seem to suggest, and this is near the front of the pack without a doubt. pours a crystal clear burnished medium amber with golden highlights and a somewhat disappointing thin gray head and sheets of gray, articulated lace. huge sweet nose of overripe grapefruit and candied oranges...yum. tons of lupulin but eminently accessible. creamy medium body with mild carb, and big forward hop notes on the mid palate. oranges, grapefruits, peaches, and caramel on a delectable and quenching profile. this beer just smokes what an ipa needs to be. dirt55 (150), Washington, USA Oct 6, 2009 tap, light amber/golden pour with thin tan head, huge floral hop aroma with mild spice notes, big fruit bomb in mouth from hops with clean malt flavor that’s well balanced, great IPA harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 4, 2009 Bottle from GBBF 09. When Firestone came and brewed for JDW last year this is what we wanted, not yet antoher golden ale. Clear orange/gold, lasting thin beige head. Lovely strong UK style hop aroma, bit of tangerine in there too. Lovely peppery hop. Decent tangerine. sweetish malt in mouth. I liked it very much. OK, lacks some malt, but great hops.
