An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

Copper color. Grapefruit hops but well balanced with malt that it didnít scream ipa. Lots of lacing. Lemon?

Fruity, citrusy, peaches, apricot, caramel, quite some booze in the aroma. Taste is peaches and apricot, nice residual sweetness, good body, grapefruit and tropical fruit, warming bitter finish. Quite a different IPA!

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Clear amber body without a huge head. Off white head reduced to thin lacing. Not an overwhelming aroma, really. The faint aroma is fruity and citrusy. Some mango smell and grapefruit. More predominant is the caramel malt that smells very sweet. Significantly better than the smell. The grapefruit is the strongest flavor, but the rest are tough to discern. No hop flavor is overwhelming. The malt is just sweet enough to feel like a DIPA, which is nice, but it doesnít taste overly sweet. Perfectly balanced. Low carbonation and medium bodied. A bit sluggish. Great flavor and easy to drink.

Golden pour with decent off white head. Has a fruit, pine, citrus, and spice aroma. Flavors of caramel, spices, resinous pine, and grapefruit. medium body that was slick and chewy on the palate with a slight alcohol warming finish. Nicely balanced, and very enjoyable.

Can from Cornelius. Pous pale. Head fades quickly. Good amount of lacing. Aroma is not as full-on as I was expecting. Zesty orange. Bit herbal. Almost minty. Spice at the end. Medium to full mouthfeel. Creamy. A good whack of bitterness blasting thru. Dryish then sweetish then more dryish. Mouth-coating finish. My first beer from Firestone Walker. Iím suitably impressed. Iím really looking forward to my Double Jack now!!

Can from the beerhive. Clear Golden, small white head. Marmalade, sweet citrus and dried fruit nose. Medium body, lovely soft fizz. Light caramel, sweet tangerine, easy bitterness. Shortish finish. So drinkable. Damn fine.
