An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

High levels of cascade hops, especially added late boil......balanced by a few less dominating hops for flavor. Very good tasting, and lasting hop body. I like this.

Bottle, bottled 11.02.2016 (from beergium). Pours amber with small whiteish head. The head stays for some moments. Aroma is sweet, caramel, pine, some fruits, alcohol. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel sugar, fruits, pine, citrus, malt. Finish is sweet with some pine bitterness. Covers alcohol rather well and drinkability is excellent for the ABV. Overall: good one - well balanced and easy to drink.

The body on this one is not as complex as on other IPAs I like more. The finish has almost a touch of mint to it. An average GOOD IPA....but nothing terrific.

Zlotta (2255) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 17, 2016
0.355 l bottle at ’Food Lovers’ (Dortmund), best before June 2017. Sweetish, very fruity, resiny and slightly grassy aroma of orange, grapefruit, tangerine and some pine. A bit sweetish, slightly bitter, very fruity and a bit resiny taste of mango, orange, grapefruit and some pine, followed by a medium long, rather bitter, resiny and dry finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Very nice!
