4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2013 INITIAL SIX-PACK RATING: Incredibly fresh floral aroma - very inviting. Pours to a great sized head that doesnít overstay its welcome. Excellent lacing. Golden color. Flavor is equally superb - great mouthfeel, great hop notes, nice kick that doesnít overpower, rich malty aftertaste. Aftertaste lingers and lingers. All it is lacking is a tad more citrus in the flavor - that is it. Only Founders Centennial IPA has this beat, IMO. WOW. Had a family member sample it, and he was blown away, too. RE-RATE, JULY 2012: Family member and I both agreed it wasnít as good this time - he did a blind taste testing and agreed it wasnít as great, while I did a re-tasting alone and also agreed it wasnít as great. We are a little disappointed. Still an excellent aroma, but a little more pine this time. Taking down from 10 to 9. Appearance is good - nice lacing and pretty orange color - but head was smaller compared to Stone IPA. Keeping that rating the same (4/5). Taste - downgrade. Again pinier than last time, and malts less pronounced (though still there - certainly maltier than Stone). Mouthfeel not as good, either. Aftertaste does still linger nicely, but again, could use more citrus. 9 to 8. Taking down the palate from 5 to 3. Overall score down to 4. Donít find this as great as Bear Republic or Green Flash anymore - depending on my mood, I may opt for this or Bellís. 4 seems fair. Bottling was recent, so canít blame it on that. Oh well. Just noticed a big drop-off in quality this time, for whatever reason. A great beer, but 4.7 to 4 is a significant change. JUNE 2013 RERATE: Got a batch bottled in May. ZOMG. This is like the first batch I ever had. Just delicious. Bumping this back up a tad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours clear golden orange with a dense white head with decent retention and moderate lacing. aroma is big grapefruit with subtle tropical fruit and sweet malt. flavor is big for a single IPA, mostly half-hour and pine bitterness with almost no balance, but itís done well... bitterness dominates the palate a bit too much though. Still, a very good beer.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This may be my favorite IPA yet!
appearance is a crystal clear yellowish gold color. one finger of white head, dissipates moderately. Aroma is AMAZING! lots and lots of citrus, i get pineapple, grapefruit, candied tropical fruit, pine notes, and a balance of light caramel malts. the tastes is very similar to the aroma, citrus & tropical bomb!! pineapple, grapefruit, pine, spruce, light caramel malt, and a hint of alcohol. the finish has a slight citrus and pine flavor that lingers. overall, this is an exceptional west coast style IPA that i will seek out and buy!

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Damn good - Biscuit malt dominant but not heavy - balanced with superb herbal hops - alcohol invisible - although recognisably English, the West Coast stamp of hops lifts this way stratospherically above English best bitter.

Highly visibly carbonated gold to orange color with a dense white head. Fruity aroma strawberry passion fruit some orange zest a bit of sweet sugar on grapefruit comes through a lift caramel. Flavor saturates your nostrils and mellows the smell directly when you drink it. Palate coats well finishes creamy. Delicious!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Toasted golden with a nice quilt of whipped egg white foam with a nice sturdy wall of lace. Smells nice with tangerine, grapefruit, some pineapple, english toasted malts slightly sweet on the finish. Bitter with a good sweet malt, some pine, some resin, orange peel - well balanced IPA if there ever was one. Medium bodied with moderate on light carb and a wet finish. Good beer, very drinkable.

Bottle fresh. Hazy golden. Nose matches taste. Notes of pine resin, citrus, grass, hay, floral hops. Not bad , I prefer a more tropical ipa.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Big time hop aroma. Clear copper color. Sips medium to full and smooth and silky mouthfeel. Has a brandy like sweetness to balance out the hop bitterness throughout. The hop flavor is moderately masked through caramel malt and citrus flavors. Nice big ipa if hop bitterness overwhelms you.
