An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

Drank from short pilsner at home from a 22oz bottle. Aroma- very clean and fresh hop and citrus notes. Appearance- very appealing yellowish orange. Thick head for an IPA and lots of carbonation. Taste- very nice and clean taste. Light hops and you can taste the orange citrus coming throug. Palate- somewhat bitter/burnt orange taste. Not bad though. Overall- good ipa but would rather have a sculpin or 2 hearted ale.

Bright and clear brass appearance with a dense foam and plenty of lacing all the way down the glass. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus fruit. Full-bodied and very smooth. Heavy hop character, followed by a bitter dry finish. There is a thickness of malt underneath with bit of sweetness and toasted biscuit. Small hint of alcohol that makes this border on a double IPA. Hopheads will love it.

Translucent golden orange hue with a mid sized white head that rather quickly dissipates. Pungent aroma featuring notes of citrus, pineapple, mango, caramel, grass and potent hops. Mid bodied with a silky tactility. Extremely crisp, refreshing ipa. Citrus and hops reign supreme with various flavours of tropical fruits present as well. Intense fruity citrus is apparent immediately upon consumption, then a lingering hop sensation gradually fades. Not necessarily temporally complex, but the instant flavour is varied and robust. Quite nice.

Can dated best by 9/23 into an IPA. A: Pale orange tinted gold with a 1/2" head. Head fell fast to a ring but left lots of lace. Busy carbonation visible. S: Dry and sweet citrus aromas with light caramel and light toast. T: Bitter pine, citrus pith and zest. Sweet fruit and caramel joins next, with some alcohol. M: Medium body with stiff carbonation and a fairly clean and dry finish. O: Very nice overall though does not quite live up to all the hype imo. In all fairness, this is 5 months old and probably much better reasonably fresh. An easily recommendable IPA nevertheless.

Strong hop aroma towards the piny citrus end. Not too fruity. Clear golden body and white thick cap of head. Hop bitter sits on the tongue. A little sweetness. Good thick body on the tongue.

AROMA-Rich hop aroma, citrus (grapefruit, lime) and ripe tropical fruit like pineapple, fresh piney. Medium malt sweet feels like fruit candy and light caramel, hint of nutty. Balance is very hoppy. Light alcohol. APPEARANCE-Color is orange gold. Light cloudy clarity. Large off-white head, lacing. FLAVOR-Medium malt sweet , light toffee. Strong fruity hop flavor, citrus, tropical fruit, piney. Clean medium bitterness. Finish is crisp hoppy, alcohol enhanced every flavor. Aftertaste is sweet, fruity, resin, light nutty, medium-high bitterness last. Very light astrigency. MOUTHFEEL-Medium body, smooth texture, medium low carbonation. OVERALL-TOP 10 IPA. My favorite.
