Pours a deep golden with a white head. The aroma is gorgeous. Bright spice and citrus. Sweet caramel malt balanced with bitter hops. Classic American style IPA. A go to for me.

(Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a tulip, ABV 7.5%, this is already six months old. A golden orange colour on the body with good activity in it, mostly clear, with a bit more than one finger of white, thick head sitting on top. Very good retention, medium lacing on the glass. The aroma has still hops with citrusy notes, light grapefruit, caramel malts, light cookie dough. Quite hoppy taste with citrus, orange peel and zest, fresh cut grass, light biscuit, with a sharp enough bitterness on the finish, lasting long on the aftertaste. Medium thin body with good carbonation and quite dry on the palate. Nice beer, refreshing and easy to drink.

Bottle. Murky golden orange with big bubbly head and nice lacing. Nose of citrus, wee bit of cat piss, sweet. Tastes of citrus, bitterness, a bit sweet on the back end, slight bit of malt. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

35.5cl bottle at Brewerkz, Riverside Point, Singapore. Poured into a stemmed glass. Slightly cloudy, amber in colour with an off white head. Aroma of citrus and hops. Caramel, malt and bitter hop taste. Medium carbonation and body. A really good IPA.

From a bottle and on tap many times. This is a classic go-to. Pours out a amber topped with a off-white head. Nose is floral citrus tropical fruit and some sweet malts. Taste is more of the great hop offerings along with a nice malt backbone to help hold it altogether.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with off-white head. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, light grassiness, toasted malts, caramel, and faint pear. Flavor is a burst of flavorful hops up front with floral and citrus notes, smooth malt profile, and a touch of grassy bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

A very nicely balanced IPA, smooth and piney, citrusy, with no bite to disturb the tranquil pacifying and appeasing components. Do you follow? A bomber in a Winter Bundle pack, I had myself persue the three to get to the coveted (for myself, not generally speaking) Velvet Mocha Merlin, the fourth in the box. You know, last time I did this, it was the Sierra Nevada Camp pack, and it was like licking coals in some instances to get to the fountain of the few select martyrs that made it in there. But, I’m glad to say, the Union Jack is jack, yo! Yum! Light copper, lingering foamy head, boquet (can I use that word for beer?) is mango/pineapple mix. Very drinkable and would have again.

Pours clear golden body with fluffy white head that leaves noticeable lacing. Aroma of citrus and pineapple at first then a healthy dose of fresh spruce. Taste starts bitter with notes of grapefruit finished off by honeysuckle and hint of brown sugar. Delightful IPA.

Bomber shared at a party. This was the freshest I’ve seen bottles in town in awhile, and they’re still 4-6 weeks old. Oh well, it’s well within the "best by" time frame, and it’s certainly in its typical retail state, so here we go. Clear light gold-amber pour with white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, caramel, some pine. Moderately sweet with prominent malt backing, moderate bitterness. Medium+ body, oily texture. Overall: I remember thinking this was great the first few times I had it, but since then I’ve been less and less impressed. No idea if it’s because of age or because my tastes have changed, but this is basically a classic west coast IPA that stays close to the center of the style. I’d say my experiences with this have ranged from 3.4-4.0, so I’m splitting the difference.
