Tap @ O’Briens. Poured clear copper-gold with a short white head. Moderate lacing. For a straight IPA, this was fantastic. Sometimes, you get the DIPA that calls itself an IPA, but this is jsut a well-done, big-hop single IPA. Crisp, fresh pink grapefruit, pine needles, orange peel, and mango in the nose. Sharp mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation. No stickiness in the finish. The aroma follows through nicely in the taste. Grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, and that bite of resin. The caramel malt stays muted and does not turn this into a candied mess. Please sell more bottles of this in San Diego.

At this point I’m too inebriated to properly rate this beer. I must revisit it though because it’s refreshing and tart and really good.

Clear orange golden color with a fine white head. Nice lacing. Toffee, caramel, over the top tropical and hoppy aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine carbonation. Tad to sweet. To much caramel/toffee, harse fruity, resinous and grapefruit hoppy. Not good. Will like to try a fresher one.

[7188-20150418] Tap. Evergreen hops and light orange peel aroma. Clear, orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head and some light lacing. Bitter evergreen needles hops and sweet orange peel flavour. Medium body is quite bitter. Delicious. (8/4/8/4/17) 4.1

Pours a clear light orange. Smells of pine, grapefruit. Taste is excellent balance of assertive hop bitterness and malt sweetness. I get orange, lime, caramel, toffee, pine. Very solid west coast IPA; among the best widely available.

Aroma: citrus and herbs, something like mango and pine with heather. Appearance: golden color and thin white head. Taste: high bitterness (citrus and pine), some citrus notes, quite dry and one-dimensional. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Quite average, nothing special.

Stopped for a beer and a snack after a short hike and was rewarded with this beer! It was a great surprise. Just a hint of an aftertaste, but I think that adds to it’s character.

Appearance - golden Aroma - Candy Orange citrus pine aroma. Taste - Grapefruit, orange, citrus, some malt presence, slightly spicy. Aftertaste - lingering bitterness, a bit spicy, some spice sweetness and grapefruit. Some alcohol as it warms. Nice refreshing IPA, good mouthfeel, delicious. Keep going back for more, if only it was cheaper in NZ!

Caramel, spicy, grapefruit, pineapple, toffee, alcohol, resin, more malt driven than expected. Hazy golden colour, medium white head, lots of lacing. heavy sweetness, very bitter, but the malts actually overpowers the hops a bit. full body, creamy, average carbonation, bitter, and warming finish. Well made.
