Pours clear, amber, with 2 and 1/2 finger head. Nice citrus aroma, lots of grapefruit on the smell and taste. Little bit of pine. Body seemed a little thin to me.

Piney aroma that leads to a nice malty taste. Midway through is super citrus bit of pineapple. Great sticky taste before bitter finish. A cool IPA. 7.5%. 2.2 Std drinks. 12ounce ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to pint. Golden orange in color with a foamy white head. Nice combo of malts and citrus in the aroma. Taste is piney hops, citrus and grapefruit with a big malty presence and lingering bitterness. Tasty stuff.

Bottle from saveur-biere.com. Amber, clear body, with a big, creamy, white head. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, flowers, some tropical fruits, candy, some grass. Tastes of grapefruit, pine, flowers, tangerine, biscuit, grass. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, slightly dry and fruity. Very good, although knowing its big brother Double Jack I expected a bit more. Well balanced, nice aromas and a great drinkability, but it lacks the last bit of extraordinariness in my opinion.

This is a great IPA loads of citrus and piny notes from the moment you pop the bottle, the taste is a great balance of citrus, floral note and some tropical fruits. A good amount of bitterness and a clean finish

26/V/14 - 12Oz. bottle @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: I/23/14 (2014-565) Thanks to Skatje M. for the bottle!

Clear deep orange beer, creamy irregular off-white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, honey, bit sugary, caramel, pineapple, jam, bit piny. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet malty start, some citrus, very fruity, pineapple, sweet passion fruit and mango, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: resinous, lots of citrus, some pineapple, honey, pretty bitter, somewhat fruity. Very nice, but have the feeling it would have been truly amazing if I would’ve drank it fresher. My own damn fault, had it for 2 months in my fridge awaiting a perfect occasion...

TET (1544) - FINLAND - JUN 19, 2014
An orange beer with a medium and blond head. The nose is fruitfull, slightly tropical and strong sweetness of fructose, peaches, medium+ sweetness. Taste is caramelly malty but that is dryed when the bitterness appears, peaches, pine needles. Balanced sweetness and bitterness. Almost four months old and thus not so fresh anymore. The end is piney. Medium+ bodied, very pleasant to drink. The aroma could be more fruitfull. Anyway, the easy and good IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2014 Archive Review:(5/27/14):Size: 12oz - Glassware: Tulip -Aroma: bready/biscuity, citrus, grapefruit. -Appearance: Pours a clear dark golden color with a pillowy white 3 finger head. The head only dissipated slightly, and left this awesome tattered barbed wire lacing pattern throughout the entire glass. -Taste: Starts off with a nice malty backbone, which gives way to the grapefruit/citrus, before giving way to the bitter end. -Palate: Medium bodied with a sticky creamy texture, lively carbonation, with an astringent, but well balanced dry bitter finish. -Overall: An excellent offering of West Coast style IPA by Firestone Walker. They prove that an IPA does not have to be just pure bitterness. It can be a well-balanced offering of sweet malts, before giving way to the bitter citrusy hoppy end. This is one I seek often for its excellent drinkability.

355ml bottle. Clear, deep orangey, dark golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Citrusy and bitter hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, pine, a touch of resin, caramel malty basis. Taste is moderately bitter, minimally biting hoppy, citrusy and piney, notes of grapefruit, orange, pine, minimally sweet caramel malty basis; soft palate, Hoppy, but not deadly bitter, superbly balanced, kicking, with a wider range of fruit flavours and not as cleaned and sterile as some other Californian IPAs; nice subtleties.
