4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This looked to be a run-of-the-mill over the top IPA. The appearance is what you would expect, a not-at-all pale hazy light amber, with a typical coarse head.
God save the Queen! At the forefront is a shower of grapefruit followed shortly by pine resin and a finish of mineral dirtiness reminiscent of dead-sea mud. The bitterness is apparent, but well balanced by the malt. Very near perfection. May very well be the best I’ve had! I need to go drink some Heavy Seas Loose Cannon to make sure...

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12-oz. bottle (dated exactly one month ago). Heavy grapefruit, sweet lime, and alfalfa lead the way on the aroma, with a touch of wet pine and light bread dough. Bright medium orange pour with a a frothy white head and light lacing. Moderate bitterness dances on the tongue with prominent grapefruit and pine before a malty sweetness (traces of caramel and vanilla) perfectly levels out the taste. Some mango and nectarine fruitiness pops out late and is joined by a grassy tone. The finish is extremely dry with just the right amount of bitterness. I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy this brew; it is the standard by which I judge all IPAs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Simple yet intense aroma of pine, grapefruit and malt, with hints of apricot and mandarine. Solid malty base, decidedly citrusy hoppy flavour, soft mouthfeel, grassy bitterness, alcohol completely hidden. Unlike many other West Coast IPA’s, this one does not overstep the line and manages to be a nicely balanced beer, without an over-the-top bitterness. Very nice!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Whole Foods in Redwood City, CA. A big ol’ burly bear of grapefruit and hairy hops. Welcome to the West Coast Jeffrey.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a nice gold color with good lacing. Smells of piney hops and tastes the same. A good beer, but nothing to write home about.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Golden with white head. Big juicy fruity nose of citrus, mango and pineapple. Malty start followed with big citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Some hop bitterness in finish. Fantastic brew!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Really good. Bottle from Vince. Golden color, nice citrusy hops, plenty of them. Best of the 3 IPA's I had today. Their double jack is even better.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’m a big fan of Firestone Walker Double Jack and I would consider Union Jack a lighter version of that. This is a good thing, since Double Jack is a DIPA, I like having an option to give up some ABV without losing the flavor.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
From the tap in to a pint glass at Links Taproom, Chicago. Pours a very clear yellowish orange color, with a thick white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma brings pine, grass, wheat. Tastes of lime up front moldy bubblegum in the middle, and sweet grass on the finnish. Mouth feel is very tingly. Wouldn’t be my 1st choice of an IPA, but a solid one.
