A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

OK, it is good but not great. No sharp edges, cocoa and coffee ce through, but it misses more complexify and fruit. Not bitter, easy drinking...

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with thin tan head that quickly fades. Aroma is not quite as robust as I like but still solid with notes of coffee and roasted malt. Very smooth tasting with well balanced sweetness and bitterness. Flavors of coffee, roasted oats, and a hint of chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: 16 ounce draft pour, on nitro. Appearance: Black, totally opaque with a thin tannish head that recedes quickly. Aroma: Moderate roast, slightly chocolatey with oatmeal presence. Taste: Chocolate/coffee roasted malt flavor, slightly sweet. The beer finishes dry with slight bitterness. Palate: Medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall: On nitro, pretty amazing stuff.

On draft, on nitro. Smooth and balanced beer, but a bit weak and watery for my tastes. The initial taste was chocolate and roasted malt, with a really smooth, creamy mouthfeel and not even a hint of acid from the dark roast malts. However, in the middle and the finish it all just fell away, and I was left with a hint of flavor and a lot of bland... water... flavor. I think it might be the nitro serving system, so I’ll try to rerate it if I get the chance to drink it again.

Draft pour. Pours a very dark mahogany that is nearly black in color and topped by a nice layer of tan colored foam that shows good retention and leaves scant lines of lace around the glass. The aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, roast, espresso, and dark caramel malts. Some bread and oats come through as well and gives a nice creamy smell to it. The flavor follows and shows a nice rich blend of malts with the dark chocolate, caramel, bread, earthy roast, and espresso all showing prominently. The oats add balance and gives everything a creamy texture. Medium bodied and very smooth with moderate carbonation that leads to a slightly dry and bitter sweet finish. Really smooth, easy drinking, and tasty oatmeal stout. Well done.
