COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

Poured a dark brown, no sediment or floaties that I could see. Almost no head. Palate had some oatmeal creaminess but less than I expected. It had a very dark roast with quite a lot of hoppy bitterness that hit up front instead of in the aftertaste. Tasted of dark fruits, hints of sweatness and whisky (but without the alcohol). Smooth and a treat.

Rich and dark with clear brown around the edges. Faint light beige head that doesn’t last long. Shame. Aroma is rich and lovely. Rich dark chocolate and espresso aromas, with oak and whisky notes with an edge of smokiness. Taste was immaculate. Smokey dark chocolate and light espresso flavors, with some boozy flavors (but without the boozy warmth), and mild oak. Very smooth from the oats. Amazing.

Bottle via trade. Pours out a moderate brown color with a small white head. Aroma is lots of chocolate, some sweetened coffee, and light roast. Taste is chocolate, light sugary sweetness and a body a little thinner than I’d like for my stouts. Not bad.

Poured into a snifter. 3.0 A: Black color. Two fingers of frothy light brown head that fizzes away a la Coca-Cola post haste. 3.5 S: Lots of oats and dry, dusty cocoa powder. Good bit of roastiness. Super dry overall. 3.0 T: The taste is really nice, but it has one major flaw. Again this is simple with a moderate roastiness, lots of oats, and cocoa powder. The flaw, which tastes a pretty damn good beer down to an average one is that this is as dry as the nose suggests. It’s painfully dry and because of this, it comes off as quite watery. 2.0 M: Light body. Light body indeed. Way too light for the style. Never had one like this. Also, too much carbonation. Not creamy due to the body and not smooth due to the carbonation level. 2.5 D: Not impressed with this one. With some crystal malt, this would be a damn good beer as the flavors present are pleasant. However, what isn’t there is more important. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-01-2011 03:28:20

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a red shine under a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, roasted malt, and metal. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry and roasted finish. The body is light.
